Pcos help

Ok I've been diagnosed with pcos for a couple of years now. I took metformin awhile and even two cycles of clomid before I lost health insurance. Recently I started birth control due to the fact I hadn't had af for four months and to regulate me (I've heard people get pregnant after stopping the pill a lot) and so I have now stopped the pill but my question is should I go back to metformin? Will it help my chances of pregnancy? Thank you guys for any help you have or even if you just want to share your story as well.
