Hey ladies :coffee:

I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2010 but didn't start metformin until march/april 2011. i've struggled with my weight since 2006 and I got bigger and bigger with the gym and diets not really helping me.

I started metformin in 2011 and within 10 months i had lost around 5 stone! I just wanted to post my success to share with other people who may suffer with PCOS and show that we can do it, it takes time and patience but its possible. :happydance:

Ive also reduced my wheat and gluten intake massively and don't drink caffeine.

See I have Pcos and lost weight on metformin but the docs here don't prescribe it unless your TTc x

That's odd Hun. Where abouts are you? They wouldn't prescribe me it when I was ttc but when I split with my ex husband I was prescribed it to help with my weightloss and have been on it since 2011 now.

I got metformin through my consultant at the hospital to help conceive. When I went for my first check up at the gp she was shocked and said metformin is only for diabetes. Yeah I know, so educated lol! I'm in NI.

YOU LOOK AMAZING!! I have metformin I stopped taking it though it upset my stomach too much though.. What all where you doing to lose weight if you don't mind me asking I am at 250 5'8 and I really need to get my weight down.. Once me and my husband moved in with each other we hit that "comfort zone" we both gained weight.. We have been TTC for 2 year no luck.. I'm giving up basically and just trying to get healthier and hoping everything will fall into place once I lose weight... Any advice will help. Keep up the great work

Sorry Hun only just saw your reply haven't been online much since. I was just simply put on metformin as the gym and dieting wasn't working for me and slowly over the months it dropped off. I haven't lost any more since but I've managed to stay the same weight which is better than gaining I suppose x

You look fab! I have PCOS and I'm on metformin, but sadly no weight loss. Now I've got a gastric band and I'm nearly 2.5st lighter in 3 weeks :)
