PCOS Metformin

My doctor started me on metformin yesterday to help me with my PCOS. I have read several success stories about women getting pregnant very fast once they started taking the metformin. I was wondering if any of you ladies are also taking metformin or have before. Some of the side effects of this drug seem pretty scary but so far so good I haven't had any bad side effects other than feeling a little yucky. The main goal of taking the metformin is to regulate my period and hopefully get me ovulating. Keep your fingers crossed for me ladies! Good luck to you all!

I have been on and off metformin for 10 years now. The side effects aren't bad if you watch your carb intake and avoid sugar. once your body gets used to the meds, it helps regulate your period and your cycles. It also helps with weightloss. and weightloss also helps regulate your cycles.

I concur with nerd. I've been taking metformin since feb and only had some side effects for the first week and now if I eat too many carbs!
It has helped me lose about 20lbs! Gl Hun x

Ive been on metformin for 9 months now. Had some trouble adjusting at first because of the stomach issues it caused me but now am fine. My Dr hopes it will help breakdown my cysts and help me ovulate. It seems to be doing both! Hopefully I'll get bfp soon!

I just started taking Metformin a week ago today! also for PCOS. I have not had bad side effects just a little dizzy here and there and feeling to my belly occasionally. but not too bad. I too have her good things about taking Metformin. I hope they work for us all like i have heard

I was just put on metformin for PCOS. I was told to start out small and work my way up so I am starting with a fourth of a pill twice daily and eventually I will take a full pill twice daily - it's supposed to help with the symptoms.

i started on 1 tablet twice a day and it made me so ill, like D&V bad, so I took it down to 1once a day and i'm fine now. seems to be working fine. Just have to watch sugar / fat / carb intake is all . xxx

Yea my dr started me at 1 pill a day for 2 weeks then i go to 2 a day for 2 weeks and then 3 a day until the end of the 1st trimester my dr said I am a week into the 1 a day and the side effects are better just a little dizzy now an then.. but it gets better! gl to everyone!
