pcos, provera and clomid

I was diagnosed with pcos in jan 2011 Db and i had been trying to conceive for 9 months when I finally visited a doctor. After doing blood test, an ultrasound and recording my temp every morning (which took forever to get just one cycle recorded because i wasnt getting my periods) he confirmed that i wasnt ovulating and that i have pcos. He prescribed me provera and 50mg of clomid I havent yet started clomid yet i'm only on day 3 of 5 of provera, but i'm really nervous about taking clomid.... I mean i'm super excited to try it but also really nervous its not going to work for me.... I dont want to get my hopes up too high for it not to work Has anyone taken clomid? how well does it work?

I to have PCOS and although im not actively TTC just yet, it is something that i worry about Alot...

I have a friend who got pregnant on her first round of Clomid, so she is sorta helping me as she alos have PCOS. i am sorry i dont really have advice, but i hope you get a BFP really soon

Everybody's response is different. My sister got her BFP on her 1st round of clomid and had twins, but clomid alone doesn't work for me so I take a combination of clomid and femera. 50mg is also the lowest dose of clomid and some people respond better at 100-200mg. In the beginning it is a little bit of trial and error. Be sure to have your DB get a SA done to make sure things are ok on his side too. It does you no good to ovulate if he has problems with count or motility.

Just remember that finding out what the problem is was a big step. If clomid works for you that is great and if it doesn't there are tons of other things they can do with medications. Are you working with a fertility specialist or your regular ob/gyn?
