Hey ladies,
I had an appt with my gyno today (first time meeting her and she is fab!! Want her to deliver all my future children!!). I haven't had a period in 6 months and she suspects that I haven't ovulated at all since getting my IUD out in August 2013.
She gave me an RX for Provera and wants me to start tonight for 10 days and then will hopefully have a period in the 10 days after that to kick start my cycle again. I am HOPING that I ovulate in my next cycle...But, if I don't she said I could try metformin and clomid.
She also wants me to meet with the Infertility specialist in the practice which I am doing on Wed of next week and she will draw bloods on day 3 of bleeding after the Provera to check some hormone levels, etc.
SO, here's my dilemma. I know that I have a history of not ovulating which made conceiving DS difficult but it was done naturally. DH doesn't want to have another baby right now but knows that it could be now or never, or never, or just take a REALLY long time and then have a not so desirable age difference between my DS and child number two.. So, I think we should start trying- I will start temping and charting after this Provera cycle to see if I ovulate and then try to somewhat naturally conceive and then if not then we try Clomid (which we were going to do last time but I got pregnant before then!)
DH says that we should start trying but he is feeling strong armed into it because he DOES want another baby and doesn't want to look back later if we have a lot of trouble or can't have another and wish we had tried sooner even if it wasn't "the right time"... I think there is NEVER a right time to have a baby and DS is 3 and I really don't want a huge age gap!!!
SO, what do you ladies think... Wait until DH is HAPPY about trying? Just take what I can get with his agreeing that we should start trying but not being HAPPY about it (men!!)?
Also, has anyone taken Provera and then ovulated next cycle and gotten pregnant on your own?
