Ahhhh. Is this syndrome ever beatable??? I have become sooo frustrated with it. :( I'm currently taking 2000mg metformin a day. I think I'm gonna have to do something I hate....totally re-work my diet. I have read a lot on cutting out carbs and losing weight helping pcos. Has anyone else found this to be true???

Hi :) Keep hope alive!! I was diagnosed with PCOS in 1999 and was told I'd never have children and to just get a hysterectomy . I wasn't okay with that news and went on Atkins.. Lost 64 lbs and got pregnant with my daughter naturally!!

Since then I have done a lot of chatting with my Dr's and nurse friends.. they suggest a 10-20 % weightloss for improved fertility. I have found that cutting carbs is the very best way to restore fertility. And daily exercise seems to be a factor as well...

Don't give up..it can happen!! My beautiful 7 year old is proof! :hugs:

Thanks Binks! I know the atkins would be good for PCOS, but it sounds dreadful as I love bread and sweets. :( Did you have low energy while on atkins?
