Hello Ladies!!
Some of you know I was diagnosed last December (after a long hard slog of telling mr GP I had problems and being ignored) with PCOS following blood tests and some US Scans. At last I have had my appointment arrive after being referred in Jan to the fertility clinic but it is not until 30th June!!!!!! :hissy: I was so upset when it arrived and said it was guna be that long!!! Then, I found out that the fertility specialist will be leaving the week after that and they havnt replaced him yet! GGRRRRRR
Does anyone know what the do for PCOS in the first instance and what to expect when I do eventually see him?
Thanks

Oh sorry to hear that hun. I also got diagnosed with PCOS in decemebeer at 21 years old. I think they may end up putting you on clomid...but it depends what the doctor thinks is best for you.

I have to put weight on...Im not allowed any tablets or anything untill the weight goes on.... x x x

Im 21 too huni!! Iv been trying to loose weight because the GP said I should because im slightly overweight but really struggling. She said the PCOS would make it harder for me to loose weight!

Hi mrsmab,

I was referred to FS in July last year (think it was July anyway) and got an app. for November so ur waiting time sounds about right, although the wait is hateful!

They only took basic bloods and info at my first appointment, and my next appointment was scheduled for AUGUST!! A whole 9 months later!

Thankfully my DH has private health insurance through work so I got a private appointment in January and was diagnosed with PCOS with bloods and ultrasound.

I was put on clomid and am now on my 3rd cycle, but no luck yet.

The process is so long and the NHS are crap, but if u hang in there u'll get there in the end. Good luck x
