I hate this debate - as mothers we always want the best for our LO! I watched so many mums in the ward go through absolute hell when they couldn't breast-fed their babies, its so unfair. Didn't help with different midwifes giving conflicting advice, all they needed was for someone to say, enjoy your baby it doesn't matter how you feed him/her. I was lucky enough to be successful at breast-feeding, but like most people it wasn't fun! We eventually had to stop due to my LO being very distracted and not getting enough food, so we moved onto formula and me and baby started smiling! It wasn't a disaster, it was just our next step. I watched an interesting video on you-tube (i might post it on the forum) which made me feel confident about our progress.

Someone actually said something in real life to you? Honestly, here on this site is the only place i've ever met any "im better then you for bfing" kind of attitude.

I guess I am lucky, mostly everyone i've spoken to, even the HV's who are very pro-bfing are polite about it.

I dont think its anyones business to comment about ffing, unless yout ell them no one has any idea why you are feeding that way whether it was by choice or not.

I agree. On here is the only place that ive come across the "im better than you" kinda thing. No one in real life has ever actually said something to me but they have implied things and spoke about themselves breastfeeding as if they are better. It really annoys me! No matter HOW you feed your child it doesnt matter... as long as you actually ARE feeding your child!! My son is bottle fed and he is gaining perfect weight, and is very healthy and happy!! Thats all that matters surely??? That he is healthy and happy

i hate this subject now!! but only because its still a sensitive subject with myself i guess.
