Period before Hcg returns to zero

Has anyone else gotten their period before their HCG returned to zero?

I'm 37 days after the start of my MC. My doctor's been testing my Hcg every-other week, my last test a week ago was still at 41. I turned a HPT positive on Weds. Yet, I started my period yesterday. I'm sure I didn't get down to zero yet.

I wasn't expecting that. I thought Hcg had to get to zero (or as my doctor says, less than 5) before my body would "start over".

Hi, I'm sorry I don't have an answer for you as I'm wondering similar. I mc naturally at 11 weeks on 2nd June and have only just stopped bleeding 2 days ago but still spotting. I've been having my hcg tested too and it was at 53 last week but I'm still getting faint positives on hpt yet I now have ovulation pains and getting a really dark line on opk but I didn't think that was possible either until hcg dropped right to around zero and bleeding stops completely.

I'm guessing it's not the case and either AF or ovulation can happen even when hcg low but not zero?
