My baby is 9 months and has his jars and tasted some of our kind of food like mashed spuds, toast and bread.

What i was asking is it okay to give him one of the little petits filous yoghurts?

Yes, we use the tesco basic ones, about 1/4 of the price for exactly the same thing! They do have sugar in tho so obviously don't feed him 10 a day :)

Yes, my DD adores them- she could easily eat 3 if I let her (I don't obs). After 6months they can have anything but honey :-) enjoy!

Yeah it's fine hun and my HV says a pot of petite felous holds about 2oz of their calcium intake they would get from a bottle! So if LO dropped a bottle they're very good for calcium etc.

:flow:

Brilliant! I will have a look the next time im at Tesco or Asda. Im sure he will like them. :baby:

The number 1 ingredient in petit filous is sugar! It obviously up to you but with my eldest I tried to limit her sugar intake under the age of 1. The Rachel's organic and yeo valley ones don't have any added sugar. As a pp said though its a great way of getting calcium in them.

It's fine, it's says you can give it to them after 6 months or weaning.
I offered it to my son around 5.5 months but his got allergy so no longer has it x

I dont want him to have to much sugar, i might have a look for the no sugar ones but if i cant get them i wont be giving him them all the time. I dont want to rot his teeth at 9 months! lol O:)

The plum organic ones are YUMMY! I always finish them off if LO leaves any (rarely!) they have no sugar and are just yogurt and fruit purée!

I get them from asda, £1.50 for 6

I try to avoid the petit filous ones (I'll buy them if there's nothing else there) but they've got a high sugar content - the Rachel's "my first" and the taste explorers ones are nice and only sweetened with the fruit puree - I tend to use them as much as possible (plus the pots are better sized for freezing portions of baby food in).

Willow loves petit filous and munch bunch sugar filled ones...whoops, won't touch the plum/Rachel's/Ella's kitchen ones. Fortunately were on a weight gaining diet currently so I'm not too bothered.

Another option is to buy full fat plain yogurt and mix half a fruit pot into it, we do that sometimes too.
X

natural yoghurt and some fruit puree/jar or even just some dried fruit cut up is just as good. I give Eddy fromage frais on occasion but he likes natural yoghurt just as much (60p for a big pot in Tesco and you can make it up to whatever flavour/give as much as you want). it's also really nice on cereals for me, or with honey in for a treat for me too lol.

I give plum or yeo valley first yeos. Or natural yoghurt with fruit (or honey for a treat for ruby)I can't imagine routinely giving sugar filled yoghurts although ruby has had them at other peoples houses and liked them.

Thanks girl's you have gave me lots of idea's. I want my boy to be able to try a nice variety of stuff!

I prefer my kids to have things with sugar in, than hidden/fake sugars. I tend to avoid sugar free things actually.

My son is 5.5 months and my paediatrician has OK'd him to have petit filous.

My LO loves them, but I buy Asda's own range - 47p for 6! X

I bought a carton of natural Greek style yogurt and just mix in fresh fruit puree and ethan loves it. I was going to buy petit filous but couldn't believe how much sugar was in them.

Isabelles been having petit felous since she was 6months she loves them, they have sugar as the first ingredient so I try not to let her have more than 1 of them a day.
I never thought about natural yogurt  I've got half a tub in the fridge just sitting there gonna give her some tomorrow with some fruit :D xxx

They are fine as a treat but I was recently advised by a dietician that they are full of sugar, she suggested buying natural plain yogurt and adding pureed fruit would be much healthier and cheaper! They advertise them as healthier as their marketing trick. I was giving my son one every day but stopped/reduced the amount of times he has them now.
