I'm facing a similar problem, my dog's unpredictable and has gone for me and a few other people a few times now and I'm worried about having her in the same house as a child... I don't think I could bare to get rid, mostly because if she was re-homed and bit someone she'd be taken away and put to sleep, we've learned how to handle her and what not to do around her that makes her attack... can't expect other people to do the same though. She refuses to stay outside, and she's very possesive of toys and could easily mistake the babies toys for her own (unhygienic to say the least) or attack if the little one goes for her toys.
Hope you sort your doggy problem out hun, sorry I can't give any advice myself!
