I thought I'd better start looking at booking a photographer but tbh, I've never used a professional in my life so have no idea what I'm looking at!

Does anyone have any do and don't dos or just any tips when looking for one? What's the average I should expect to pay?

I can give you a run down if you want from the perspective of when Brides are booking me and from when I booked ours?

I'll drop you a PM if you like but I will say that it has to be someone you totally trust and don't mind being there on the day as it is such a huge thing to be that closely involved in someones wedding you want it to be someone you are at ease with.

I tend to go on my gutt instinct, if I like the photos then I contact the photographer. Prices vary greatly depending on the packages.

i agree with Pops, you have to be comfortable with them to get the best pics. Prices range from £500-ish up to 4-5k, it just depends on the package, their style, their awards and qualifications. Looking on their websites is a good place to start

Faille, we are paying £375 for the photographer to attend for four hours and take all the pictures, and then afterwards we can pick a package of what we would like in terms of the photos. x

Pops.... Can I be cheeky and ask a question too please?
I filled out our list of group shots that we would like and wondered if I have forgotten any good ones, we have picked:

• Everyone
• Us with my parents
• Us with my parents and brothers
• Us with my whole family
• Us with OH's Dad
• Us with my mums side of family
• Us with my dads side of family
• Us with grandparents
• Us with two of our friends and their children

I'm not having a bridesmaid and my brother is OH's best man so thats included with family pictures. Thank you muchly pops. xxx

We are paying £250 for ours which is a brillaint price as all the others we were looking at were around £500!

We get a wedding album with 60 photos in, a CD with 1000 photos on and the photographer will be with us from 11am - 7.30/8pm!
