All my best come from my 35mm. But a 50 does just as well!

I hope no one minds me asking in here but I'm looking for a new camera, nothing fancy, just one that takes clear photos of my toddler and newborn to be. Most of my photos come out blurry and its a nightmare to get a clear one. Any recommendations? x

Best thing to do is to pop into a jessops store and try out the compact cameras!
Look for ones that come with rechargable batteries (I think most Canons and Nikons do)

I have found that the best point and shoot cameras come from Cannon. And any of the DSLR cameras come from Nikon. I would deffinitely stay away from ones like Kodak and Panasonic. Every one of them that I have seen photos from have been rubbish. Also you do want to find that uses recharchargable lithium battery, if it uses 2 AA then most deffinitely get rechargeable batteries for it, that is what my husband has for his and never have any issues of draing too quickly or running out of batteries to use. Always keep 2 in camera and 2 spares in the bag.

Thank you girls, very much appreciated. The one I have atm is a kodak one, I thought it would be good, but 90% are blurry unless its really good lighting. The one of Alex in my siggy was taken with it and its one of the only clear ones we have from that camera.

Can you try them out in some stores then? not sure we have a Jessops near here, do comet and such places let you try them? x

Hey Hayley, we have this one

https://www.jessops.com/Directory/catalogue.ashx/$s=Fujifilm%20Finepix%20JZ510?fh_location=//jessops/en_GB/isvisible=1/$s=Fujifilm%20Finepix%20JZ510&tduid=36b47fce73bfa20d2db6bba49a84f3f5&urlRefer=https://www.jessops.com/Directory/catalogue.ashx/$s=Fujifilm%20Finepix%20JZ510

It's got a great zoom and is good on auto and pretty much always get a decent photo out of it - you've seen my photos, so you can judge for yourself xx

You should be able to try out the display ones. Many are set up to allow taking sample photos that you can view on the display.

I have a Panasonic lumix from about 7 years ago and it still provides beautiful pics. They have excellent Leica lenses or at least did when I bought mine.

I'm looking to upgrade to a proper SLR in the near future to formally retire my old OM10.

Are you taking pics in enough light Hayley? The blurring might be from low level light so the pictures are taking fast enough and minor movement causes a blur. One of my criteria when I got my Panasonic was to get one with a hot shoe so I could use my flash gun as built in flashes generally provide dreadful lighting.

Hiya all! My OH wants to buy me a new camera for my birthday this week as mine is complete rubbish! I'm looking for one with a good zoom, that still takes amazing pictures when zoomed to the max unlike the one I got now and clear pictures/not blurry

So far I've found these but can't decide between the 2? I only use my camera to take photos of LO and other social events

Samsung PL120 Digital Camera
Nikon Coolpix S3100 Digital Camera

Open to any other recommendations

Some I took of my dog yesterday :) really pleased with them as the only edit was crop and frame!

ames - you'll never get a perfect picture noise-free when using "digital" zoom, so the secret is to look for the one with the most "optical" zoom as that's worked using the glass inside.

Love it!

I've just recently picked up my camera again after a hugely long break. As you can see, thus far my subject has been my poser of a daughter!
