Not being a Nikon user, I can only suggest Canon, and the one I posted above. The Canon 350D. It's come right down now due to the 400D, 450D etc coming out. So check it out, see what you can find.

I mean, I still have it and pull off some great stuff...like:

But yes, still takes practice...just have to be interested enough...

emma - i have macro "filters" that screw on to my basic lenses to allow me some extra close-ups without having to spend packet on a dedicated macro lens. i've found they've let me have a play around with macro to see if 1. i'm any good at it and 2. i actually want to sink £300+ into a specialist lens.

kerry - the 1000D (Canon) seems to be a good little starter slr - bang up to date and great prices too....

Im sat here kicking myself!! I just remembered ive got a macro lens kit what a plonka i am :( Id have done better if id have remembered that!!

@Leeds, no problem, and thankyou! Maybe I'll post more.

Its having kids running around you it puts you off (well my excuse anyway lol).

thanks guys...

bit wary of ebay as my sis got a little casio from there and it was clearly a counterfeit :(

ok so im very new to this... body?! is just the camera right? and what else would I need?

xx

jessops is usually uber-expensive tho. :hissy: they conned me when i went in for my 350D..... i can't remember now exactly what happened but i remember being VERY cross....

If it says just the body then you need the lens aswell.

Pricey just seen the pictures of you in action! I want a lens like that!

Kerry are you going to get a camera then?

gonna have to see :(... may still have to wait for my birthday etc :( 5 months away!!

If I didnt owe so much I wouldnt be fussed in getting something on credit but need to be careful!! But then I think if it really takes off and i start doing pics for ppl and making a few quid on the side then its worth it

but its all ifs :(
