Picking out Baby Names before even getting a BFP, who all does this?

My DH and I have picked out names since pretty much day 1 of TTC.

Anyone else do this?

Ooh me! I have been doing this for 2 years! When I was 14 I used to write the names I wanted for my kids on my bedroom wall. Back then it was mostly Aubrianna Acacia and things like that lol. Now days I love Addison and Addelyn. What about you?

Yup, we have our names picked already! haha

DH even uses the names in sentences when he is referring to our "future" plans. Sometimes it catches me off guards but then it is nice to hear the names be used, so we can test out how much we really like them or not...

Oh yes, I've had names picked out since before we even started to TTC! LOL.

For sure, I know that if I have a daughter, her middle name will be Dorothy. That was the name of my great-great-aunt, who was just my absolute favourite person in the world. When she was on her deathbed at 98 years old I made her a promise that I would name my child after her one day, and I intend on keeping that promise with all my heart.

For first names, I like Evelyn, Rachel, Lily, Mya, or Kayla for girls; for boys, I like Zachary, Luke, Ben, or Nicholas.

What my husband and I are going to do is each make a list independently, and then compare and see if we have any in common. If we do, we'll go with that one. If we don't, we'll figure something out. :winkwink:

I love the name game. Xmas has always been a super special holiday in my family. We often caroled, volunteered, brought presents to St Jude's church, baked, stocking stuffers, everything. Ironically, the day that was so important was the last day I saw my Dad before he had a massive heart attack and passed. For me, naming my baby a Xmas name will bring back the joy we once had together and haven't had for 6 years since hes been gone. Long story for my few names :)
Gabriel for a boy
Noelle or Scarlett for a girl

My DH does the same, torture but heart melting!

That is beautiful and I'm sure you're kids will appreciate the meaning and value that v their names hold!

Thanks! And how cool that that is your name, too. :) It's interesting; the other names I had had on my mind for a long time, but just the other day, I was just sitting on the couch watching tv, not even thinking about ttc or babies at the moment (which is rare for me these days!) when the name Kayla popped in my mind. I think it's very pretty!

We've been set on Valentine for a girl for years. All our future kid talk has revolved around little Valentine because we didn't have a boy name, so it's gonna throw me off if we have a boy ;) We recently settled on Vincent for a boy - he wants to name him after his grandfather, and I don't have any better ideas. Guess we have a thing for Vs.

Hello!

Yes I totally have all my names picked out for my future children.

For Girls:

Abigail Rose
Rebekah Lynne
Rachel Anne

For Boys:

James Daniel
Luke Bradford
Caleb Arthur

I would so love six kids (my best friend has four and I love taking them places and hanging at there house!) but if this TTC doesn't turn into a baby soon I am afraid I will be getting to old ha ha!

Blessings,

Those are really lovely names, ByHisGrace! And I also wanted to tell you that I really love your username! :)

Best of luck to you!!!
