Can anyone show me pictures of the size they make things for their 1 year old? I'm not sure about what size is appropriate. Also, what portion sizes? Thanks!!

I never bothered with set portion sizes. I just got used to how much she was devouring and whether she was wanting seconds and was led by her. At 1 yr my LO was eating more than she does now at 5yrs (can anyone say huge growth spurt!), like adult portion of shepherds pie and peas, then a banana, then two yoghurts, then 5mini rice cakes, then a pear, then a snack bar. I think all kids are different though and as long as they try a varied diet you can trust they won't starve themselves if you follow their lead.

I agree with the PP. I wouldn't necessarily worry about portion sizes unless it's a relatively unhealthy treat (a very small piece of cake instead of an adult size). If the food you're offering is healthy and varied, offer as much as your LO would like. At that age, I tended to only put small amounts on the plate - 6 pieces of pasta and 1 floret of broccoli - and refill as she ate it, rather than putting a giant plate of food in front of her. I found it got thrown on the floor less (or if it did, it was less to pick up) that way. I also found my daughter often ate more at that age than she does now at 3. She could eat a whole adult sized big bowl of porridge (like one instant packet with milk) plus a whole banana, now it might be on a good day, half a bowl of porridge plus 1/3 a banana. I would offer as much as your LO wants of lots of different things and let her decide when she's had enough.
