Having a c-section in 1 week and 6 days And I'm not sure what to put in my hospital bag- normal pjs or nighties? Which would be more comfortable? Anything else you would recommend taking to the hospital? Haven't had a c-section before so I'm clueless on what to take. Anyone have any advice?

Personally I preferred Pj/jogging bottoms. Obviously you will have big knickers and mat pads on, so I preferred having pants on. Then you dont have to worry about hairy legs or sitting lady like. I also felt like they kept my stomach more still and it was less exposed

Both! I wore a nighty for the first 48hrs before they would let me get up!!
They had to change pads and check blood loss there etc at first so was far easier!
As soon as I was aloud to get up and have a shower I then preferred pjs!

LOL--I LOVE about not worrying about your hairy legs!--haha so true (with me too, anyways :) )

Just don't forget to get a larger size pant--you don't want the waistband to be anywhere near your incision area..and for that a nighty is good too...pack both and after, you'll have a better idea of what you're comfy in :).

Oh--and I didn't know this until my 2nd c-section--don't be shy about if they have a radio in the OR, asking them to put on music you like. During the process of getting baby out, it was nice to hear my kind of tunes to help make the situation better all around.

BIGHUGS!!!

I had both but preferred the pj's. Saying that though they were big ones that came right over my bump!!! and not rubbing on anything tender

I had mine on the 1st Feb was a nightie for first 48hrs then soon as I was walking beta pj bottoms that I rolled just below wound now day 6 only wearing things that sit below wound

I proffered a nighty as I hated the thought of a waistband being near the wound

I wore nighties and big over the bump pants, I remember laughing at them when my mum bought me them, like 'I am not wearing those!!!' but thank god I had them because I had emergency section, they make sure there is no waistband near the wound.

Massssive pants are a must!! I loved mine, lol! I wore a nightie in hospital and for a day or so at home (I'm in a wheelchair and having to do pants and pj bottoms would have been a nightmare for toilet!) then wore large pj bottoms that went right up to my boobs! I couldn't stand anything near my incision, more paranoia than anything hurting...
Hope all goes well xx

It's honestly just what you prefer. Like others have said, I like having my legs covered so I had big PJ'S with quite a loose high waist band. It didn't bother my wound at all but some ladies prefer nighties.

As random as it might sound i'm getting my legs waxed a couple days before I have my section so that it one less thing to think about whilst recovering!
I loved my big pants after my emcs to the point I am still wearing them 3 yrs later! They were so comfy and away from the wound.
I preferred to wear nighties in hospital as it allowed the midwives to do their checks without have to take too many layers off. Once we were home I put my pj's back on as I wasn't having to be checked left right and centre.

Im over 3 years post section and waistbands on my incision line still piss me off! So I would say definitely a nightie for me, glad I packed them last time x

I've packed nighties for the first 24/48 hours, then i've got maternity leggings and shirts (I hate wearing pj's in the day) :)

Nightie as pj bottoms will be a pain with the catheter in! I will take two nighties with me like last time also the waist band might be on your incision.
