I went to see my consultant the other day and she booked me in for my section, although i am worried, i told the Dr that i was concerned as with all my children i had long latent labours and my eldest son i was in active labour for 2 hours and 2 weeks early, she said that if i go into labour i am to go straight to the hospital, i live nearly an hour away this is planned due to 2 previous emcs so slightly worried if this one comes quick and what implications could be, also they have booked my section for the 27th May only 4 days before my due date, i have been in latent labour at 4 days pre this time with each of my pregnancies, i have another appt at 32 weeks, what do you think, should i try and push for an earlier date or am i being a paranoid pregnant Mum?????

I think it's good your dr. listened to you. I would just leave it alone for now and just watch your body for signs of labor. I can understand being scared and hopefully your dr. will take every precaution and get you in earlier if need be. I was VBAC my last pregnancy and when we went to weekly appointments he checked me every time, but I wasn't progressing at all so I went ahead with a c-section. So hopefully your dr. will keep checking you and change your date if you start to dialate.

If that was me I would push for an earlier date, especially with your history. My OB has scheduled me for 38w1d to have my section. Doesn't want me going into labour as I'm high risk for uterine rupture. That being said if I wasn't high risk te OB's here schedule for 39 weeks usually, or if you are high risk for whatever reason, they go on a case to case basis. If you feel that the section is scheduled too late, than definitely say something

I have had 2 previous emcs hence this one being planned, that is why i am worried about complications if i don't get to the hospital

I would definately push for an earlier date too, but that's just me :)

Jen do you mind me asking why you are at risk of uterine rupture and how they've monitored you for this? This is a potential risk for me if I were to have another baby and we're trying to decide the risk.

It's a scarey thought and my fears came true when I went into natural labour , my last birth was 4 hrs 45 mins so was worried as baby was breach. My waters broke at 6.30 got to hospital at 7.30 once dd was cared for and ds was born by 11.36pm as long as you go straight to the hopsital I'm sure you will be ok x
