I don't know If this happened to any of you.... I'm almost 5 weeks and I find that I can't fit my trousers anymore... I feel a bit shy about going to a maternity shop and say...

" Hi, I'm only 5 weeks pregnant and I think I need some maternity trousers"

Has this ever happened to any of you? Do you think is ok for me to go and get a couple of trousers?

My regular T-shirts are still ok... the only thing are the TROUSERS!!!!!

Please help!!!!

There's a lot of bloat in the beginning. Try not to stress about it. As long as you are eating healthy, it will go down just in time for the weight gain.

The pants I was struggling to close only a few weeks ago fit fine now, and I've gained some real weight (not just water weight).

Yes that happened to me! Now im fine and back in normal trousers :)

ok so it looks its quite normal then.

I will stick to my leggins by nos and see if this bloating gets better!

Many thanks! I'm so newby on this...

My trousers a pretty tight but I have some I got from primark that are jeggings and have stretchy waist bands. I got them in a size up so they should last me for quite a while. Perfect solution for now and will be able to wear once given birth. Also bought a dress that I can wear whilst pregnant and as it's not maternity will also be able to wear after. This is what I'm planning to do with most of my clothes as don't want to buy a lot of maternity stuff as I need clothes that I will be able to keep wearing really.

Also with jeans etc, if it's just the waist band you could try using a hair band or elastic band to do the button so it's not too tight. Just make sure you have a long top to hide it.

I was the same. In fact, the bloat I got, started around implantation time, and just got bigger and bigger. I was really concious of it, but them I got the bfp and it made sense. Progesterone levels rise in pregnancy and they cause the bloat.

Ive been same but it calmed down its just hit again. I just converted to leggings x

I know It can sound ab it stupid but I ended up buying a pair of maternity jeans, they were quite good price (outlet) and will last for the rest of my pregnancy I think. I feel much much comfy right now and as well I got a pair of leggins ( outlet too) Feel already the difference.

Was quite funny as the lady in the shop asked me if I was carying twins! ( don't know yet tho ) hehehe

thanks again to everyone :)

I bought a pair of maternity jeans around 5 or 6 weeks. They just have a stretchy waist not the big belly band. I've been wearing them whenever I go out because I can't fit in my other ones anymore. I didn't want to buy a bunch of jeans because it's going to be summer when I mostly need them and when I was pregnant in the summer last time, I was soooo hot all the time and definitely won't be wearing jeans.

I'm bloaty too and have dumped my usual jeans for the next size up. I think it's water retention as my weight is the same.

I can do up my buttons still, but my lower tummy where bubs is is so tender; that any sort of pressure causes so much discomfort. I was the same with DS too and started wearing maternity pants in the first tri. If you're tender and feeling uncomfortable, then just start wearing maternity pants. Who cares what the shop assistant thinks! Do what's comfortable for you. There is no right or wrong way about this as we're all different. My bloat has gone down, but i can feel my uterus is giving me a very slight lower bump and its tender.

I have started wearing my maternity pants from first pregnancy, they are way too big on me so i just fold them down a bit, but at least they're soft around my belly.

Same here the ones I ordered are called a Demi panel it's just an elastic band not the full belly band. I really had to hunt them down too and the store didn't have my length so I had to order them online. I should get them by Monday, hopefully because I'm down to my last pair of jeans that fit but I still need to make it through until the weather warms up and then I'll be on the hunt for shorts too

I looked that up, it looks similar to the ones I have. I got mine at a thrift store. They are a little long so I should take them in to get hemmed. I'm short so pants are usually too long on me.

Amazing! many many thanks to all! I defo wear maternity jeans! they feel soo comfy and I can feel in my uterus area is a bit tender if there's pressure on it, so defo wearing them! I just fold the large bump in half and they are still very comfy!

I got those large bump one so I can use through all my pregnancy!
