ok so this is my second month trying to conceive. Since January I have been having loose stools, with some cramps. Doctor diagnosed me with IBS. Last month I had a 26 day cycle (which is weird because mine are usually almost always 28 days...) I got a positive opk on Day 11. Now here I am the second month trying to conceive, Day 11 and I barely got a faint line!!!!!

I am scared to death, I dont know why ovarian cancer is in the back of my head, mainly because I have been having really bad lower back pain and having to urinate a lot and basically type those in to Webmd and ovarian C comes to my screen :( I also read it causes menstrual changes and now I am so scared that this faint line means I am not going to ovulate this month which could be the menstrual changes they are talking about. I have never went a month without a positive Ovulation test.

My question to you guys. Has anyone from barely a faint line to positive over night? Since my cycle is usually 28 days is it too early to get a positive on Day 11? The thing that worries me is, shouldnt there be a gradual darkening of the color? I feel like mine is getting lighter :(

ladies please help me i am so scared so so scared, I dont know why I do this to myself and my mind is my own worst enemy. I just hope to hear your experiences.

Thank you all in advance. :hugs:

Oh yeah, you can go from barely a faint line to a dark, no-doubt-about-it positive within hours. ;) I wouldn't worry about that at all. If you normally have a 28 day cycle, it might still be a couple days before you get a positive OPK. Also, keep in mind that it's VERY easy for a woman to miss the LH surge in between testing times, so OPKs aren't nearly as reliable as charting/temping to determine ovulation.

As far as the cancer thing goes, you have to take everything you read online with a grain of salt! I say this from experience. I have anxiety and I've gone into full-blown panic attacks from reading stuff like that online, only to find out that everything is fine. Honestly, you can Google the word "headache" or even "gas" and there are sites out there that pinpoint those things as cancer symptoms. If you're worried something is wrong, make an appointment with the doc to have some blood work done to put your mind at ease. But please, please don't rely on the internet to tell you what's wrong. :hugs:

You will almost always have a faint line on an OPK, because there is always some level of LH in your system. Google/WebMD is like my worst enemy! If you google anything, it will almost always tell you something is horribly wrong...not just slightly wrong...but horribly wrong...and almost always, its something minor!

If you are really stressing out, this is going to affect your ovulation and your IBS...I have IBS, and all my stress gets funneled into stomach cramps! I hear that it also delays ovulation.

Try to do something for yourself hun, something that relaxes you...like get a massage, or take some hot baths. If you are really worried, make an appt with your doctor. My guess is you haven't surged quite yet, or maybe you missed it testing :)

Thank you so much, you guys relieved my anxiety a bit. I am still worried, ugghhh I just want it to subside. I didnt even check my ovulation this morning in case I do not get a positive I do not want to go into psycho mode. I have a catscan set up for tomorrow morning, so there is no point to track (CT gives off tooo much radiation) so I think I am done for this month :((

Can I ask you ladies, when you do have anxiety and/or IBS do you have this ache on the left lower side of your abdomen, mine has been there for over a week. It is really scaring me.... I am so scared... I really hope its not my ovaries, or something else. Ughh, I just want this nightmare to be over and to move on with my life and start enjoying trying to get pregnant :(

My iBs was horrible (I've learned to manage my food intolerances over the years so I'm not even half as bad now) but it would feel like I was dying to be honest , like all over abdomen, back pain, like i was gonna vomit all the time. It was horrible. There were a couple of years I didn't go anywhere because I was afraid of having to use the bathroom and be horribly ill! I'm so glad I feel recovered from that period of my life. So any kind or level of pain you are in, I believe it Hun and I would believe it could be from iBs! The only way to rule anything out of course is the doctors. Good luck Hun!

Thank you so much. I guess I pressured him to give me a ct just to put my mind at ease because I wont feel comfortable till I eliminate everything else. I am having really bad back pain too. It just seems like any food is triggering this stuff, I haven't noticed a pattern :(

Anyone out there getting ache on left lower abdomen? That has lasted for like two weeks on and of f:(

Wishing, I am not sure I get your post? Are you pregnant or TTC? If you are TTC and just got off of birth control, your cycle and the hormones that go with it are going to need time to get back into sync. I tried OPKs for two months- the first month (the month before I conceived) I got 3-4 days of faint lines with one day of full blown positive. The next month, I got 3 days of faint lines with no positives. What I have learned is that the time of day you test, the amount of water you drink and how many times you have peed (or how concentrated your urine is) all affects the test and you may not get a true positive result.
As for the cancer- as someone with a family history of ovarian cancer, I know it is terrifying, but the greater risk is associated with ovulation which why many doctors recommend birth control or pregnancy so you lower your number of ovulations each year.
As for aches and pains in the abdomen, again this depends on if you are pregnant or TTC. In a TTC person the aches and pains could be associated with the IBS and gas. If you are pregnant, it could be the uterus stretching. I personally have not had any pains in my lower abdomen and am currently 6 weeks pregnant today, but it could be different in each person.... Sorry I couldn't help more :hugs:

Thats okay, I am TTC not currently pregnant. I haev been having pains in my lower left abdomen since my last period so its been about 11 days now. I am so worried it just feels like it is always there, my doctor told me IBS but I feel like he brushed me off cause of my age. I just wante dto know if anyone out there that suffers from IBS gets this sort of pain.

Btw, congrats on the BFP!

Okay, that makes more sense I think....
I know some women get lower abdominal pains during ovulation. A simple way to determine is if you put your thumbs and index fingers together to make a triangle and then put the triangle over your belly button. Where your pinkies touch the abdomen are your ovaries (or within that area) if the pain is coming from that location, I would call a doctor especially since no one here can really diagnose... I know when I was 14 I had some lower abdomen pain that ended up being a cyst. I only found out about it when it ruptured and I had a 3 week long bleed, but I honestly think because you are constantly thinking about it, you are noticing it more. It could just be gas or consitpation too so I would call the doc.....
