I'm having to supplement my milk due to severe anaemia causing my milk not to come in.

I've read on here about aptamil ready made cartons but I can't find where to buy them at all. Can only find the sma ones but I want lo to have aptamil.

Thanks from a mum who feels awful for not being able to provide for my baby :(

Baby is only 3 days old by the way

Hi there Beth. You should be able to get Aptamil cartons from Boots and Asda. I've just had a look at Asda online and if you want to get shopping delivered (huge help in the early days, esp if you're tired and anaemic), you can order it online. Boots also does an online thing where you can order and pick it up, but I don't think that's as quick. Sorry you're feeling so awful. When I had LO, I felt so guilty over not being able to feed my LO as I had planned, but she's thriving and is very happy at 6 months. Hang on in there. You're doing the best you can for your LO. Here's the direct link to the Asda thing :hugs: https://groceries.asda.com/asda-est...Products&headerVersion=v1&_requestid=157085s:

:hugs: :hugs: Not sure that there is much I can add as Willows reply said everything.

Don't feel awful though honey :hugs: :hugs: xxxx

I buy mine from Sainsbury's or Morrisons but I know Tescos do them as well.

You ARE providing for your baby - it might not be the way you planned but your baby wont know or care which way they were fed!

:hugs:

I've seen them sold in Morrisons, but can you use the powder form? I think it's cheaper. Good luck hon, I had a lot of problems getting started too, and you shouldn't feel guilty for any of it. You're trying and that's all anyone can ask from you. Having a baby is hard, and you have extra things to worry about, so only take it a day at a time.

Thanks so much everyone, found it in Boots and our local Tesco! :)

I would feed with the powder but when baby wakes during the night for a feed she screams for it there and then, can't wait for the kettle to boil then cool for 30 minutes before giving it to her and my mw said i had to make each feed as and when it's needed.

Dunno how you girls manage it!

I prepare 3 bottles as per instructions cool them down real quick and stick in the fridge and warm up as needed. I always use themH within 12 hours. No problems so far. Carmen is very unpredictable with her feeds so recommended way is no good for us. (my HV told me to do them that way too) Hope you feel better now :hugs::hugs::hugs:

Hiya Beth
During the night, me and DH use cartons if need be. We use powder during the day. There are so many ways to prepare it. When LO was very small, we basically made a bottle as soon as she finished the last, refridgerated it when it got to room temp and used it within 3 hours. Now we tend to make them up 2/3 in advance as we feel she's older and her gut is more mature. There are lots of different ways to make bottles up though and everyone finds their own way. Whilst Freya is little, I wouldn't suggest straying from the instructions. Hope today was better. :hugs:
