I hope some of you lovely ladies have some advice or tips or hints for me because I am going slowly insane!

No matter what I do, I have to get up at least 6 times during the night to go wee! Sometimes it's every hour! I've tried not drinking from 5, not drinking from dinner time and nothing works. As soon as I've dropped off I'm up again to go back to the toilet. This has been going on for 2 months now and I can't cope much longer.

I'm currently on an extremely demanding placement (8-9 hours on placement, and at least 4+ more hours at home) and the lack of sleep is getting me extremely down, I feel like crying most of the time.

Most of my early symptoms have vanished but this is still happening, please please help :-(

Might be baby on putting pressure on your bladder. Ive had this recently, not quite as bad as 6 times a night. But i get an ache where i imagine my bladder to be if i lay stretched out too or turn over. That feels like i need a wee.

Dont really know what to suggest though to be honest :( kinda just gotta ride it out and have lots of early nights to try and catch up on some Zzzz's
xx

How many weeks are you ???

I stopped drinking Prior to going to bed! I only wake up twice now.

Sorry to disappoint... I'm 26 weeks and still get up 5+ times in the night :(

I tried it all, from not drinking, to making sure I fully empty my bladder each time

If it makes you feel better I can now get up for a pee in the dark and get back to bed without fully waking up

I'm still working full time at the moment, and the only way I am surviving is long lie ins on the weekend and if it gets too bad napping between 4-5 in the evening

I had this really bad about the same stage as you because the baby hasn't moved up, it started to ease around 16 weeks but have to say now baby is bigger having the same problem again now and guessing it won't get better until may. :(

I'm the same, then I go back to sleep and wake up again aching constantly! I think our bodies are preparing us for what's to come!

Xx

I went through the same thing, thankfully it stopped about a week or so ago and most nights I am sleeping through, ocasionally waking up but only once thank God.

Unfortunately I dont know what I did differently, maybe the baby moving taking pressure off of my bladder or something, I also stopped drinking late at night but you said you tried that and it didnt work. But hopefully, like me, it will just get better because it is so annoying and thats comming from someone with no commitments during the day

I'm only 14+1 and this has been going on for 2 months already now :-( I don't drink from getting in from my placement till when I go to bed usually (even though I'm really thirsty) and it doesn't seem to make a bit of difference. I don't understand how it is happening because I seem to be weeing more than I drink!

I hope so to! Congrats on it stopping for you, hopefully the same will happen for me :)

I was getting up a million times per night when I was 14/15 weeks, but it got better. I asked my doctor about it at the time and she said that the baby was "sitting on my bladder" - but it seems that she shifted around 16 weeks because that symptom went away. Hopefully you will get some better sleep soon!

aww sorry it's so bothersome hun. i had that issue in the beginning for a while then it went away. unfortunately it came back last week. i would guess that it will ease up again later as the baby moves up a little more but it's just gonna come back right before delivery when the baby drops. it's just one of those things. really makes it difficult to stay hydrated when all you wanna do is skip out on fluids in hopes of a little relief. body is definitely trying to prepare us for nightly feedings every 2 hours!!

I am exactly the same!! It's pretty much every hour and it is doing me in I'm so tired!! I hope it eases up but I've got a feeling I'm stuck til July! I am going to bed earlier but still not catching up on sleep

Thanks for all the advice ladies, and big hugs to all of you in the same boat :hugs:

I know it will get worse as I get bigger but it won't be such an issue then because I won't have placement to worry about. Naps are out of the question as I have too much work to do when I get in and I usually get finished between 8 and 10 when I go straight to bed (like now!)

*crossed fingers* for me and all the other ladies in this position!

Got up about 5 times during the night, but I managed to get a block of about 3 hours sleep so feel I have achieved something at least! Still praying I get a wee free night soon
