I need to get the whop on our camera so it's clearer! I think that top was squashing my boob too so it looked like a big football....not a bad whop but the 'sandwich' could have been better!!!

Me neither and when I try to sandwich they still are not that long! oh and my fingers get int he way as well i need more practice

The nipples really are not that important!! It's about getting a good mouth full of areola - it's BREASTfeeding not NIPPLEfeeding!!!!!!!!

thanks again for the encouragement, mervs mum. he latched on a bit longer today ( maybe a minute more? ). and that felt like an achievement.

Brilliant!! And it IS an achievement! Every successful feed is!! I've said it before but this is the toughest time for mum's starting out BFing. It's the point most give up. Throw a seriously sore nipple in there and you'll have a full set!

And just so you know I'm not talking rubbish....here's your official 1 week milestone blinkie! They wouldnt make them if it werent a big deal

ok. i feel real good. son latched on and actually sucked for a good five minutes on each breast - for two switches!

this is really going to happen! i hope this means he'll eventually choose to breastfeed on his own volition!

omg that video has made me realise just how much my latch sucks!!!!!!

What the hell can I do now!! I have loads of milk and that is the only reason I have been getting away with it. I really need to work on getting enough boob in her mouth but it just doesn't seem to work.

Keep practicing and try not to get down on yourself

Keep practicing babe. Try the sandwich thing with the tickle on the nose/top lip and remember to hold the back of her neck and really whop it in while bringing her forward.

You ALWAYS do your best honey!!! I know that!!! One day it will just click for you honey. just remember everyone's latch isnt exactly as that video shows. We all have different breasts and our babies mouths are different too.

Feel like I have hijaqcked this thread, sorry. Just need to get more boob in her mouth, she tends to just grab my nipple and areola but her lips are not open wide enough.
