Hello everyone. Please help me. My daughter has had a rash on her chest for about 3 weeks now. it started under her chin so i just thought it was a drool rash but it seems to be spreading down her chest. Also today i was washing her and found a really bad/tender red spot under her armpit. It also seems to be pussing quite bad. clear pus. We have a doctors appointment for her tomorrow but im quite worried about the pus. pus = infection right? Plz help me. What should i do? what do you think it is? do you think im ok to wait until tomorrow? just took her temp and its 37.4 .01 above normal so thats ok right?

Updated for those who do not wish to read all the posts lol.
Talked to the health nurse. Was told she is fine to wait for her doctors appointment tomorrow as long as she is happy and does not develop a fever. Also not to put anything on it until she is seen by the doctor. I bath her every day with just warm water on doctor advice a few weeks back. I try to dry her a best as i can im sure i have missed her armpit a few times though. just going to keep it clean and air it out until tomorrow morning.
First picture is of her chest today

Doctor! GO!

I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be mean, but why was your first instinct to post pictures on a forum site, especially with weeping pus under her arm?

Yeah i think the rash looks alot like ecsma (sp?) I have it in patches sometimes on my arms:flower:

Because im a first time mom and i trust the ladies here. and that was kinda mean.

Aww, poor thing. My LO has eczema and it looks just like that. I don't know about the underarm, best get that checked out. Hope she's ok :hugs:

I'm sorry but that is seriously harsh! It's a Sunday night, do you know any doctor that is open?! It's obvious the rash isn't anything serious like meningitis but the poor girl obviously wanted some opinions before wasting doctors time!

OP - it does look like excema, the armpit does look very sore, could possibly due to the heat and they have a few extra folds when they're little and it's got sore and infected, a bit like nappy rash. Definitely go to the doctor, I'm sure she'll be fine and they'll give you some cream for her armpit and some stuff to bath her in for her rash. :hugs:

I'm going to be a first time mom as well and no matter how much I trust the ladies on here, my first instinct will always be a doctor, especially if it's been occurring for 3 weeks. Sorry if it came off mean, but it's what went through my head and I'm an honest person.

It looks like a boil on the underarm, she may need some antibiotics, poor little thing!

The rash definately looks like excema, my DD gets it on her face like that, the doctor gave us some steriod cream to get rid and then aveeno to apply on a daily basis. I don't have a clue with the arpit, it does look really sore though, poor baby, I hope youget it sorted at the doctors tomorrow :hugs::hugs::hugs:

my little boy had a similar rash over his back, neck and belly. try washing him in (just) water nothing in the bath. then once drying him, use a tiny little bit of sudocrem over him. dont bath him to often as it seems hes body is sensitive. instead just use non perfumed baby wipes throughout the day with then tiny bit of sudocrem. if this doesnt improve try using non bio washing powder when washing his clothes. you ten to find that babies are extra sensitive and doing these things help.

if this doesnt improve then seek futher help.

hope that is helpful to you x

sorry but I agree with ozzieshunni, posting on a forum wouldn't have been my first instinct and I don't think she was being mean.

BUT I'd go straight to A&E that looks nasty, hope it can be sorted easily

Her armpit looks like infected intertrigo..

yes that was mean!! she is asking for our help. her daughter is going to the docs tomorrow so she wanted to see what we thought.
Im getting sick and tired of people jumping on others on here when they are simply asking for advice.

if you have nothing nice or helpful to say then dont say it!
its not something that needs A&E so why not post on here?!!!!!

Original poster, please ignore the rude and unsympathetic remarks and dont reply to any more otherwise your post will be hijacked by it all!

Blees her, does look like eczema in first pic my first born had it quite bad and charlie (6.5 months) is getting a bit on his back but second picture looks like a skin infection probably give you some cream for it when u see doctor tomw.

If she's well in herself then don't worry too much as she'll be seen soon xxxx

That's uncalled for. There could be a number of reasons why she can't take her daughter to the doctors today, I know if i wanted to get Bella into our doctors they wouldn't be able to get me in same day, you don't have to be so rude :nope:

To answer the original question, same as the other ladies, it looks like exzema.
Is she itching at it at all? Her armpit could very well have an infection so i'd say just keep it as clean as you can for tonight, make sure she's not wearing anything to tight that's likely to rub and irratate it further.
