Plz help me. What is this. pictures. Update: back from the doctors

do you formula feed?
reason I ask my LO had a very similar rash, but wasn't eczema - started on her cheeks, then her chin, then neck, shoulders, back etc over 3-4 weeks.
HV dismissed it, GP said it was an allergy.
switched milks and within 48hrs it was gone....
under the arm def looks like an infection to me, if LO is grouchy and unwell then I would a&e otherwise probably wait until morning for docs appointment (if your a&e queues are anything like ours I wouldn't want my baby exposed to all sorts of ill people!).
good luck xx

Bloody hell, looks like some neck winding in needs to be done here. Since when did this become a place where a Mum couldn't ask for help without being jumped on! I don't know what doctor she is expected to go to on a Sunday night, but maybe read the whole post without jumping on someone. Blimey. Don't us Mum's have a hard enough time without attacking each other.

OP - :hugs: hun, I sympathise as Melody has a very similar rash and it really upset me. When it was bad and around her neck, I smothered it in sudocrem overnight and it almost went in a few days. The chest rash though looks the same and our doctor discribed it as 'pre-eczema'. We put aquatious cream on twice a day and use Oilatum in the bath. Obviously, you can get both over the counter but well worth a doctors visit as you will need to get her diagnosed and she might need a little steriod cream to get it under control. Melody is TONNES better for regular cream. As for under her arm it does look a bit angry. As it's one of the many places they like to store bits and peices in () it could be an infection or thrush ect. I'm sure the doctor will help.

You have done the glass test though? Sorry if that is rude, but I have to say :) If you are at all worried about it or she gets ill, go to A&E :hugs:

God this thread has got some readers on it now............ ^^^^^ lol

Let us know what out of hrs nurse/docs says xxx

I cannot help but feel completely angered by all the judgmental people on this forum. If you don't have anything nice/helpful to say then don't say it. I'm really sorry that you got this abuse when you are worried about your poorly daughter.

Hun, if you feel like you should take her to a&e you should, can never be too safe. I'm not sure whether you have a medical helpline or anything where your from, if so that may be worth a go. Poor baby :( xx

Doctor! GO!

I'm sorry, I'm not trying to be mean, but why was your first instinct to post pictures on a forum site, especially with weeping pus under her arm?

Because im a first time mom and i trust the ladies here. and that was kinda mean.

yes that was mean!! she is asking for our help. her daughter is going to the docs tomorrow so she wanted to see what we thought.
Im getting sick and tired of people jumping on others on here when they are simply asking for advice.

if you have nothing nice or helpful to say then dont say it!
its not something that needs A&E so why not post on here?!!!!!

Original poster, please ignore the rude and unsympathetic remarks and dont reply to any more otherwise your post will be hijacked by it all!

xxxxx

OP said it had been ongoing for 3 weeks. If my baby has a weeping boil under her arms for three weeks, I would be at the doctor, whether or not they think it's serious, it would be serious to me! I'm not rude or unsympathetic, just logical.

Can I just butt in here, this is as far as i have got havent read anything after this post, buh the OP actually said the rash had been ongoing for 3 weeks not the pus and that the pus had only started today,, if ur gonna jump on someone like that read the damn thing properly,!

Also hun, just keep LOs armpit cool and dont let it dry up, poor thing I hope shes ok, if she does get a temperature or start to seem in pain with it take her up to the hospital.

Now ill read the rest of the thread.. Somebody has probably already said al this LOL

Thanks everyone. Just got off the phone with the health line. They have advised me that she is fine to wait until tomorrow morning for her normal doctors appointment but if she gets a fever of 38 or higher to take her to the hospital immediately. She does not seem to be in any pain. still smiling away at me and does not have a fever. the pus also seems to have stopped. I was also told to keep it clean with just a warm wet cloth and not to put anything on it tonight. I really appreciate everyone who stood up for me and tried to help. i really love this forum and understand some people have different views but i would never make anyone feel the way i was made to feel by someone. Thank you all so so so so much. will update tomorrow when we get back from the doctors.
Drazic<3: sorry in not sure what the glass test is?

Aw poor love, the chest does look like eczema and my lo did have a weepy bit under her neck which was also eczema when she was younger. docs tomorrow if her temp is normal and she seems ok. and ignore the harsh comments, its not a case for a&e as she seems well and no docs open on a sunday. hugs xxx

the glass test is where u roll a clear glass over the rash to see if it dissapears under pressure.. something they tell you to do if u suspect meningitis. xxx

I hope you will get it sorted tomorrow and its nothing serious :hugs:

Also i really was jsut looking for advice. i really wish this hadn't turned into what it did. I really want to say thanks for all the wonderful support and help. Being a first time mom or a mom at all can be quite scary.

It looks like excema that is maybe infected.

Call NHS Direct or GP in the morn.

Keep it clean and dry and some Sudocrem on it till you can been seen.

Hope she is better soon.

Ok ladies, lets just stop for a minute shall we? :coffee:

Im sure some posts that came across as "mean" were well intentioned deep down. Lets not turn this into another arguement eh.

OP, i hope you get some answers from the doctor tomorrow and that your LO is ok :hugs:

The glass test is exactly what firstprincess said. As you said it has been there a while it's a pretty unlikely situation it would be menigitis, it just made me feel better to type it. lol.

The rash could be eczema, possibly from your washing powder, but all rashes should be checked out really.

The armpit just looks like a skin crease that has been left damp/dirty and got really sore. Keep it clean and dry, especially after a bath. You might need to clean it several times a day until the skin heals. A bit of baby powder might help keep it dry. Is she dribbling lots at the moment? If so, use some nice thick bibs to stop moisture dripping down there! :)

hiya hun, hope your okay! just keep the armpit very clean with plain water and dry she'll be fine to see the doctor in the morning :hugs:

some people just dont think before they speak in this case type. i think it was so unnecessary for her to say that..this is what the forum is for ....HELP AND ADVICE. we are all new to this doesnt mean we judge silly :dohh:

glad that the helpline said that shes ok to go tomorrow morning. keep us updated on how you get on tomorrow x

Glad you rang Out of Hours to put your mind at rest hun :hugs:

Hope she is ok and they give you some cream or something tomorrow at the doctors :hugs:
