Let's post about positive comments we have heard about BFing. I know we all have heard enough negative ones, so let's share the good ones and give each other a pat on the back for a job well done!!!

Last weekend at a friend's I was nursing Brenn when a neighbor came over with a friend of her's. The female friend, said to me 'nursing a 14 month old, Well done, good for you!" It made me feel good! :happydance:

Great thread!

We've had lots of positive comments about BF and thankfully not a single negative experience in 5 months of BF. The most popular comment we get is "How beautiful and natural - well done!" It sure makes a mommy feel good!

:flower:

I always loved how positive our pediatrician was, she was always so happy he was still nursing telling me what a great job I was doing, one of the seemingly few that are educated on breastfeeding in general but also toddlers.

well I can say i have feed all my children  and are still feeding my daughter who is 10 months tomorrow, the high light from feeding my last son was when a little old lady came up to me when i was feeding him to say how lovely it was to see my feeding him as she was unable to feed her children

My mum and my little sister have given me my best positive comments. It's particularly special to me as Mum FF me and my sister from the start and my sister FF from the get go too.

My mum is always telling people how I BF but the one that sticks with me is when we had to take Hebe for an xray on her hips recently. Mum came with me into the xray room and the radiographer was asking how old she was and saying how lovely she is etc. and right after I said 8 months my mum very proudly told her 'and she's still BFing!'....I was really please - it was really obvious how proud she was and so different to the usual 'she's STILL () BFing....' statements you often hear. :smug:

I get quite a lot of positive comments from male friends and my ohs friends to.

They all say how natural it is and the best thing for baby.

I always like to hear positive comments from men as my friend didn't breastfeed because her boyfriend said some pretty harsh things and didn't want her to feed in front of people not sure if this was to do with his age as he is only 17.

I get lots of positive comments from freinds and facebook etc.... ooh and work, My boss is an NCT BF counsellor and so is my Auntie. Also my 2 aunties and best friend are midwives so its always been loads of support there :D

Aint it great :D

i was feeding in the city centre on a bench and a women shouted at me 'GET IN GIRL, WELL DONE' which i thought was funny x

That is funny! Normally they tell us to sod off!!

My aunty always tells me what a fantastic mum I am for still feeding Ed and my Nanna is so proud she even tells people that I'm still breastfeeding when I'm not there. I think given half the chance she would tell anyone who would listen

My OH says hes proud of me for BFing and he tell quite alot of people too... dunno y!!

Also my mums neighbour came round and i was feeding and she said 'oh good for u hunny, stik at it' that was a lovely think to say.... then she scared me that her youngest son was lactose intolerant and she had to feed him til he was 5

I've had lots, but recently in Barcelona airport an old lady told me how wonderful it was and that she hadn't been able to bf and it had made her so sad (all translated through DH, hee hee). Then last weekend his grandmother was here and almost cried watching me bf, again she hadn't been able to and had to spend a lot of time with her boys in hospital because of her low supply. DH's grandmother has obviously been talking because I was speaking to his Aunt and one of the first things she said was "so I hear your bfing, how wonderful".

I was in Aldi last week and Halen was crying for food, but as I was on my own I had to sort out the shopping cause sods law he started crying when I had just loaded it all on to the conveyor belt and it was a big shop

The man at the checkout said "oh I think he's hungry don't you have a bottle for him" and I explained I was breast feeding and would sort him out as soon as I'd paid for my shopping, so he said "good on u, its the most natural thing in the world!" with a big grin on his face

Made me feel great :D

My OH is also very proud I BF and is very protective over me being able to do it everywhere, he says you should not sit in the bloody car and do it......... get em out etc

At clinic last week James was weighed and he had put on 8oz the health visitor said to me how was I feeding him and when I said breast feeding she said, only? so I said yeah and she said whoah you should be so proud of your self, thats really fantastic. Look at him he is happy and healthy. It nearly made me cry ! And she is right we all should be so proud girlies.
DH always tells me how proud he is and says to James, Who has the most Fab mummy in the world, And who is the luckiest boy in the world to have such a good mummy as yours. Im rubbish at taking compliments and normally tell him to shut up, or stop creeping lol.
