Hi,

Am new to this board, ttc#1 for couple of months. I will have regular 24/25 days period, ovulation falling on cd10 or cd11. I got positive opk (darker than control line) on cd10 night and got heavy ovulation pains on one side following the test.

I usually dry up right after the ovulation pain and i will get opk negative.
But this month, i noticed traces of ewcm on dpo2 and dpo 3. took a test on dpo 3 and got a positive(not as dark as on ovulation day) but its not light as well. i tested again on dpo5 and dpo8, i could still see a line bit lighter than control line.

i dont temp but i have used opks earlier months and i will have positive only for 3 days. tests would be blank for rest of the days.

this never happened to me and i am really confused :-k. i really thank in advance for any help.

I've only been using OPKs for a couple of months so I hope someone better informed will be along to correct me if I'm wrong.
Your OPK is considered positive only if both lines are AS dark as each other, or if the test line is darker than the control line. You can get positive OPKs on a couple of days because you're catching the LH surge on the way up and down.
It's possible to have faint test lines even when you're not ovulating / about to ovulate because LH is always present in your body in small quantities. I usually test from CD 10 to CD 18 and there is always a lighter-coloured test line for me before I get the positive OPK.

Thanks for the quick reply, i am totally confused as i never got even lighter lines after 2 dpo.

OK I'm confused also, I'm not sure I understood what's happening then! Try posting in the Ovulation tests forum, they're more "expert".
