Anyone else get this? I guess this means there is a higher risk of me having a child with it. I am talking about the blood test only. I have to wait until the 20th of June for my level two ultrasound.

However I'm carrying twins and I read online that that can give you a false positive. It's all unnerving!

My sister had positive results and then at the Level 2 they noted that it was a false positive. :( Good luck.... keep us updated.

With my dd1, I also had a positive from the bloods. My follow up ultrasound showed a perfect baby with no problems, and my daughter is now a healthy 3yr old. But yes, multiples can give a false positive as I can remember it saying so in my results!

Thanks gals for your responses. It is all very nerve racking and I really don't need more to worry about!

I've been taking a high dose of folic acid since before getting pregnant so I hope that will also have prevented any spina bifida.

Yes, multiples can do it!

We tested positive, and had a special scan last week (only have 1 baby). Baby looks fine, no deformations or anything. Apparently testing positive is "increased risk", but not necessarily "yes, your child has it".

It's easy to say now, because we know... but try not to stress about it too much!
