Hi!

I've been charting my temps and using OPK's to hopefully make some sense of my cycles before I start TTC at the end of the year.

Since Christmas I have had really long cycles. I'm now on CD53 (I think, it's in my sig). No sign of AF yet. I started doing OPK's on Sunday 31st and the first was what I thought was positive-

The rest are either every day after or every other day, they're all pretty dark though

Fridays which were by far the darkest. On this day I'd also got what looked like a positive HPT but I had a blood test the same day which ruled out pregnancy.

They seemed to get lighter over the weekend. But this this from today

I'm so confused. My chart says I ov-ed last Friday which, clearly, was by far the darkest, the test line was darker than the control line. But they're still very dark.

What could be causing this? This has only been a recent thing. I've always been fairly regular except for when I was on the pill. I have a copper coil so not on any hormonal contraceptive that could be affecting anything.

Does it look like I really did ov on Friday then? Is it possible to get dark lines all the time but then get a darker line when you ov? I know some women do get lines all month but not as dark as this surely?

I got two positives during my first cycle..however only one is true positive and it took only one minute to see the surge..the second one took 6-7 min and is not so dark as the first true positive.. I believe u had only one true positive so I am sure it should be fine..some people just have more lh... If this issue is bothering you too much try using clearblue digital ovulation test if you haven't already..

Also have a look at the following

4. What if my OPK is positive for several days in a row? It is possible, in a normal ovulation, to have a positive OPK for several days in a row. This is because LH peaks (surges) about 12-36 hours before ovulation occurs, and then dissipates. So, you could theoretically detect this high level of LH with positive OPK's from the time it begins to the time it dissipates-- over 36 hours.

It is also possible that your body is "gearing up" to ovulate, and you have an LH surge-- and then, for some reason (such as stress, illness, travel, or random fluke), your body fails to release an egg . . . then tries, tries again ASAP with another, or overlapping, surge. If you see a positive OPK for longer than 3 consecutive days, your egg is probably just having a little trouble getting out of the starting gate. If this happens to you occasionally, it's no big deal. If it happens a lot, talk to your doctor. (I just play one on the Internet )

Oh thanks, that's a lot of help! Yeah, that's what I thought. The ones from last Friday are definitely positive but the other ones I had to umm and ahh over. The one on Friday came up almost immediately too but the others took at least 5-10 minutes so I wasn't sure about them. Will try another one later on and see what happens.

I'm not really an expert but I think my chart is looking fairly good and like I probably did ov just before the weekend too?

Ohhh the one I've just done is definitely negative
