So I had my midwife appt on wednesday and there was a slight trace of blood in my wee so she sent it off.
So today I get a call saying I should expect a phone call from a doc this afternoon to discuss my results and I'm thinking its a possible UTI. Silly me googled it and someone said having a UTI so late might make you go into labour early? Which I hope isn't true!

Also what do they usually do if you have a UTI in late pregnancy I'm guessing it'll be a dose of antibiotics?

:D thanks ladies

My guess is they'll give you some antibiotics, but I'm sure somebody else who answers will know from experience!
Don't use google for things like this, I've had to stop myself googling things as everything that comes up is negative! :haha:
I hope if you do have a UTI that it clears up soon

hi hun,

I had a bad UTI in my first pregnancy, think i had blood, protein and maybe a few others in mine and i was in agony. All they did was put me on antibiotics, which cleared it up no problem.

If you do have an infection they will probably do the same, so i wouldnt be too concerned. good luck xx

the doc rang and said that he couldnt tell if there was a infection there or if the wee was contaminated  apparently the result came up as a mixed infection? so i have to do another wee sample to be sent off such a pain in the ass lol!

oh i know googles terrible i dont usually bother :winkwink:

odd though because i have no symptoms of a infection! can you get a UTI and not know its there?

I wouldnt worry too much, I get them allll the time, I think I've had 7 this pregnancy, my last one was at 36 weeks :flower: I don't usually know, they just find stuff in my wee, test it n send me my antibiotic prescription :haha:

I had one recently at 32 weeks. I went for a NST and they said i had cloudy urine so they sent it out and gave me antibiotics to start. never confirmed or denied it then i went a week later for a schedueld appt and now they are saying i have some other infection and have two more antibiotics... and ive had no symptoms either so i guess anything can happen

Ah see I thought you had to have symptoms which is why I found it quite odd!

Do you usually feel sick or nauseous when you have one because the doctor kept asking if I felt sick or was sick :?

Thanks for all your replies ladies :flower:

I had this exact problem! I did a wee test and it came back 'inconclusive' so I did another one and the doctor said my wee contained white blood cells and red blood cells but no infection was caught so he thinks my body fought it off before it got much worse. he then tested my urine with one of those sticks and i noticed my urine visibly looked clearer than the samples I took the week before and he said they were fine with no white blood cells or red blood cells.

When I first thought I had a UTI I drank TONS of filtered water and TONS of cranberry juice and noticed a difference. Maybe this helped!

I didn't feel sick, I just had back ache around the kidney areas and was doing trips to the loo literally every 5 minutes. These were my only symptoms. I've never recieved any antibiotics for it either. I think my body may have gotten rid of it now.

I've had a slight uti since week 28 and had anti biotics, on my second lot this week and ism feeling much better so they just give you anti biotics to clear it up.
