I'm assuming that some of you are still lurking in here post delivery (or have had GD before in previous pregnancies). I've got my post natal Glucose Tolerance Test yet to come, how did you get on with yours and were your blood sugar levels back to normal?

Also, how did you manage your diet in the meantime? I've gone back to eating carbohydrates again, but will reduce them after the GTT. I want to continue with lower carbohydrate, but not until I have been tested as I want a fairer picture of whether I am likely to be type 2 diabetic later on, I didn't want to potentially affect the results and get a false negative.

I was entirely diet controlled and avoided an induction by going into labour early, having a natural childbirth at 38+5 with TENS and paracetemol for pain relief, with intermittent monitoring (twice in the 30 minutes I was actually in the delivery suite, I nearly didn't get there in time!)

I also thought this thread might be useful for the ladies who are still pregnant so they can maybe get an idea of what to expect afterwards :) Good luck to you all with your GD management and birth :)
