Could i join you? My little man is 2 years & 6 months. We bought him a potty a while ago and just had it sat around so he could get used to it kind of thing, at first he would freak out and not go near it. But he now likes it and sits on it watching telly lol. But hes never done anything on it yet. The problem im finding is he cant yet communicate when he needs to go, and it doesnt bother him sitting in a full nappy. Which makes me think hes not quite ready for it yet  He'll sit on the potty for ages then get up to go and play with something and wee on the floor, he says 'Uh-Oh' so he does realise when hes going without a nappy on, but he cant tell me before hand. Im waiting for the moment he does something on there so i can make a big fuss of him and hopefully he'll connect the praise to the action!

I think I'm going to stop for a few months and then try again. My son just isn't entertaining potty training at all! xx

katie knows what her potty is for and was using it everyday before and after bathtime a few months ago, usually having a wee and poo on it :) now though she doesnt seem as keen and like Katy1310 we have carpet everywhere so its not too easy to clean up accidents. im always out aswell though so its hard to stick to it. she just getting over thrush so i might try again next week once her cream is finished

good luck ladies :D xx

I think i need to join here..
need all the advise and help possible

Mason is now nearly 2 and half and hes doing okay he is ready i think
probably not 100% but he is more then not.. he can use the potty and normal
toilet and i know when he needs a wee or #2 usually but i haven't yet braved to
go out without a nappy on :nope: im abit scared to do it lol.. specially if i go out
and theres no toilets near  .. i might leave that till hes abit better in the house

He usually pulls his nappy off at night or in the day so i knew i needed to have another
go at it .. i think this week is a non busy week so we may be able to try be nappyless
the entire week i hope!

hey guys, i havent started yet but im confused on how to do it! hw u know where to put them on the potty? and are they ment to stopp nappies stright away?

Everyone will do it differently.. i started off by getting a potty
and my LO hated it was scared of it but he took really well to the toilet
with a kids seat on it.. and i let him have abit of toilet paper to put down
something he likes to do.. but hes now back to his potty and i just let him
have no nappy on in the house and now he tells me when he needs a wee
so i always know if i go out he wears pull ups.. hes still in nappies at night
but i just got pull ups for him  not sure if theres a better way of doing
it or not iv been trying for awhile to potty train and now hes more ready i think
as he tells me when he needs to go and knows its good when he does a wee in
the potty and asks me to throw it away after lol

Hey ladies, well, we're back on with the PT and it's just bloody horrendous! Arf makes no attempt whatsoever to even try to wee on the potty and so he's basically treating his pants like a nappy, i.e he just goes! I'm going a bit spare really because the house is gonna start stinking as I don't always know where he's done it, I just notice his pants are wet. I'm so frustrated and can't help but think he's just taking his laziness to the extreme now. He doesn't talk very well at all so we can't say potty or wee wee but I know he understands me when I ask him if he needs to go, but he just shakes his head no. Then he'll often go a minute later arrggggghhhhh!! Feeling pointless right now :growlmad::growlmad:
