potty training tips

deacon is just over 2. he now tells me when his nappy needs changing, and i can see him trying, just before he does a poo (sorry tmi).

i have a chair type potty, and he sits on every now and then, but with nappy on, but tells me hes doing poos.

how do i actually start getting him out of nappies and using the potty or loo? any tips?
