Hi All,

I am new to this forum and the information here looks amazing.

My wife and I are expecting a baby in January :happydance: and are looking for a pram.

So far we like a few but cannot decide on "the one"...

Do we get -

a) Quinny Buzz
b) Mothercare Spin (the black framed limited edition)
c) Silver Cross Surf (with the dark frame)
d) or another like the iCandy or Clam (I think it is called)

Any help would be grateful...

Hello, Welcome to B&B nice to see a Father to be on here :)

My husband and I are having the same conundrum... I have to say i have only looked at the Quinny Buzz out of your list. I have read quite a few reviews ect and so far we are leaning towards that.
I have also looked at the Graco Symbio. Also quite impressive.

I think it depends on what you want in a pram.

Sorry I’m not much help.

We basically want a pram that is light, durable, has a carry cot and a pushchair (so a combo/all in one pram), that will last us a while the older the child the better...

I prefer a black or dark frame to a silver one.

I like the Silver Cross Surf and my wife likes the Quinny Buzz.

But we both liked the Mothercare Spin, but not sure if thats the one we want to buy because of the carry cot it is not stable if put on the floor.

Hi,

Well I looked at the mothercare spin and quinny buzz and decided on the quinny buzz- only because the Quinny seemed a lot more sturdy and I preferred the style of it. Also I have a lot of friends that have the Quinny and they love it. I haven't ordered it yet but doing so in a couple of weeks.

However I have heard people on here saying that they don't like the Quinny, so I really think it is just personal preference and what you want from the pram!

I think its fab and wouldn't dream of getting anything else but thats just my personl opinion!

Good luck!

Hi there!

Obviously it all depends on your budget, but my husband and I have gone for the mama's and papa's ultima.

It has a carrycot, car seat and buggy seat and comes with both a pram/pushchair chassis (which you can choose with swivel or fixed wheels) and also it comes with a seperate stand so you can put the carry cot on to use like a moses basket, the buggy seat on to use like a high chair and the car seat on too. It is basically 9 in 1 and will last a good few years.

It is so simple to put up and down - basically push two big buttons and pull the handle and it is folded, do the reverse and it is up. It is lightweight and quite compact too.

Here is a link to it:

https://www.mamasandpapas.com/range/ultima/2921/

Ours is the one in Couture Brown near the bottom - I thought it was such an unusual colour and less likely to look grubby like some of the black/blue or light brown ones do - and also we didn't know which team we were on either and felt it would be suitable for boy or girl.

We ordered it from the outlet at mcarthur glenn near mansfield and paid less than the website exclusive price.

We briefly looked at the Mama's and Papa's Pram, but we are going for a Maxi-Cosi car seat, so ideally wanted one of the 3 that i listed as we liked the looks of these.

I like the patterns on the Mama's and Papa's Prams, but dont think they are for us...

The maxi cosi is compatible with the M&P Urbo... thats the one we are going for because its SO light and folds down very small. I looked at the Icandy and the quinny and just felt that they were more money for the same offering really...

I guess the best thing you can do is go somewhere you can test drive them all (probably John Lewis or somewhere like that) because its such a personal choice what may not work for someone else might be great for you...

haha @ clam. do you mean oyster

we had the buzz for amelie and i really liked it but if I get preg again I'd get a bugaboo bee.

lol, yeah i meant the Oyster

has anyone had a Quinny Buzz, Silver Cross Surf or Mothercare Spin, would be good to hear your pro's and cons on these...?

We went pram/pushchair shopping at the weekend.

After many hours wee narrowed it down to the Quinny Buzz, the Silvercross Surf or the Britax B-Smart 3. In the end we went with the Britax B-Smart 3.

hi and welcome :)

just popping over from 3rd tri....but we went for the silver cross surf and its lovely, its so easy and small to fold down etc and is a fab price especially if you look around, look on itsababy they do good deals on it

You mentioned the Icandy, I have the Cherry in black on order. Should be in today so can let you know what it is like if I get it soon :)

cool thanks everyone, I am yet to find someone with a bad experience of the Silver Cross Surf, we still need to find somewhere that has it in store to check it out...

I have a quinny buzz and I think it's great - it's second hand too and in great condition still. It seems so much better than the three-wheeler I had nearly 10 years ago with my son!

It's not great for the bus though so I'll be getting a lightweight buggy for that - it'll be fantastic for the school run, dog walks to the park and beach etc though which is what I wanted it for.

I'm gonna do what I've done to everyone that's asked about prams on here....

I highly recommend the Hauck Apollo 4 (all in one) - We've got this pram/travelsystem and it's amazing, I LOVE it and really can't wait to use it!!

I'd almost put a doll in it and take it for a spin outside ;) hahaha...

Thanks, but we will be getting the Maxi-Cosi pebble, so we do not need a car seat.
but this is a great bundle.

The more I look at the silver Cross Surf the more it is pulling me towards it... (not sure about my wife - hopefully she can be persuaded...):winkwink:

Hello!
Great to see a daddy to be on here. My hubby and I looked at the same prams as you! We very very nearly went for Icandy peach but had a last minute sway to quinny buzz. It's gorgeous and easy to use, folds easily, carrycot comes on and off easily etc. Prams are such a personal choice, so go for the one you both like. I love my quinny and would recommend it. xx

Seconded! - There really is NOTHING to beat actually trying them out- putting them up and down taking them apart etc

Snap Taylorr - we were torn between the Quinny Buzz and the Britax because I really wanted a reversible push chair. In the end the Britax was for me easy to work out and put together and up and down. The Quinny lost out for 2 reasons - lack of or very small shopping basket and I found the Quinny hard to put down as I was fighting against the hydraulic system which makes it so easy when you are putting it back up. Cant remember why we didnt look again at the Surf.

Im getting the Britax B-Smart 3 in the green. Took us WEEKS to decide though.

Mizze xx
