Hi Ladies,
With my first pregnancy, i had borderline high blood pressure at the begining, and once i was 18 weeks, they put me on labatalol to control it. All throughout my blood pressure was controlled, but then at 35 weeks, it started to go up. Did a 24 urine test and my blood pressure was still reading high, so they said to induce. I didn't ask much questions, i was naive and just listened to the dr. My daughter was born at 36 weeks.
This pregnancy, my blood pressure had been fine, but now at 33 weeks, its starting to go up. I asked my dr if my previous pregnancy if i was actually diagnosed with pre-e, and she said the levels were high enough that it was heading there and that after the baby was born, the levels were there, so yes i had it. Thats kind of confusing to me. So i guess i had it?
Now that my blood pressure has gone up, my dr has me part of this home care program where they come to the house to check on baby with a non-stress test machine. I check my urine everyday for protein. Supposed to check my blood pressure three times a day, everyday. And of course record kick counts of baby twice a day.
I'm not on medication to control the blood pressure. Other then a couple high blood pressure readings, and i have some protein in my urine, but it hasn't increased, I have no other signs of pre e.
I guess my question is...what symptoms did you guys have of pre-e? i've read some comments where they say it's "awful". What was awful?
I'm asking for information cuz as much as they say "if you have a headache, or feel sick, you could have pre-e", i would like to know more descriptively of what your symptoms felt like. I've never felt any symptoms of pre-e, and I almost feel like my dr has signed me up for this program where monitoring is excessive considering i haven't been diagnosed with anything other then hypertension, which isn't controlled with anything yet.
