Thought I'd post here as well as third tri.

Does anyone have any positive stories/ outcomes with pre eclampsia? You may have read my previous posts that i have been in and out of hospital for past three weeks with very high bp and on meds i was allowed home as long as monitored twice weekly by community mw- well today bp was high at that and got sent to day assessment who found proteins, just saw consultant and told that i have pre eclampsia well they are going to do a growth scan tomorrow if all is well and baby grown since the last growth scan two weeks ago then they will try keep me going if not will be induced or failing that c section. Im going to be in hospital until baby arrives now. All a bit worrying but I'm being strong and have wonderful support I have to have faith all will be okay. Any positive stories will help me tonight as i sit in the ward pondering whats going to happen :'( x

Just a quick reply sorry

I had high BP and protein in urine from 35 weeks and was in hospital from 36 weeks. I had to do a 24 hour urine collection which showed too ouch protein and they wanted to send me down to the induction suite.

Once down there, different medical team gave me the option of waiting longer (which I chose as I wanted 37 weeks earliest providing baby was ok) they did blood tests every two days, doppler scan once a week and growth scan.

I still +++ protein so did another collection and they decided to start induction with the pessary at 37+1.

Two propess, three sweeps later and still remained 1cm with high long closed cervix :dohh:

Had to have waters broken and drip at 38 weeks. I had the epidural, an episiotomy but natural delivery.

Hope this helped...feel free to ask any questions and good luck

XxX

I have had pree twice. First time was induced at 39 weeks but he didn't tolerate so I had a section. The second time I was hospitalized at 31 weeks and had her at 32 weeks. She spent a month in the nicu but was fine. Both kids are now healthy and doing well. Honestly you are at a great gestation and considered term at 37 weeks. With my thrid I didn't have pree but just pregnancy induced high bp. The hospital is the best place as they can monitor you more closely and make sure that you are ok. Pree can change quickly so I would rather be there than home. I am sure that you would be able to take baby home at this point anyway. Baby just might be a little small from the high bp. Just try to rest. If you really are determined to make it to 40 weeks the best thing to do is be on bed rest and lay down as that helps with the bp some.

One thing that they forget to tell you is that you can have pree for up to 6 weeks post partum. If you go home from having baby and start to feel funny and your bp goes back up go back to the hospital. It should all be fine. Good luck. Any questions feel free to ask.

Thanks so much for all of your support ladies :-)

Well today has brought some fab news I just saw my consultant - she is so pleased with babys growth - she even thinks little one is going to be a good size baby perhaps over 8lbs by next week- myblood tests fine and BP readings on the increased meds are good on the whole good other than a couple ! (called me a A* patient!) she has decided to let me out on home leave- It doesnt change that i still have pre eclampsia with proteinuria but I'm going to have community midwife come to the house everyday i go to hospital for ctg and bloods on sunday and ser consultant herself Tuesday- and if high ill be straight back in! but she did say WERE HAVING A BABY NEXT WEEK!!!!!
