Preemie weight fluctuations

Hi guys, it's me again.

My baby was born at 30w5d, and after 5 weeks at the nicu, he is now in the Scbu for the last 3 weeks. So he's 39w3d now.

For the last 3 weeks we've seen very steady weight increase of approx 25-30g per day. However for the last week he's put on 10g once, 80g the next, and today he's lost 60g. All in the last 3 days. The nurses and doc says weight fluctuations can occur coz of baby's stool, urine, but I'm not convinced, esp since he's been so regular in weight increase.

Any ideas? I know I should trust the doctors and not worry.. But I am. For reference our baby is 2.03kg today. That's 4lb 14oz.*

great to hear from you daddy we went through a time like you described and it could also be the scale being used that can account for the discreptancies. Anyhow it sounds normal to me so try not to worry your little guy is doing great. When my son stopped putting on 40g a day they added an oil called "MTC" oil to his already fortified milk.
