I stopped bleeding after my early miscarriage nearly a week ago - I am due to do the follow-up HPT tomorrow or Tuesday. But it's like my body still thinks I'm pregnant. I am bloated and retaining weight, I'm exhausted, my hands and lips are dry and cracking but my hair is extra full and shiny. I have constant headaches. My daughter has gone off my milk (she's still nursing). It just feels exactly like the first stages of my previous pregnancies, to the point where I have half-convinced myself that I am still pregnant, even though I know I cannot be. It's like a sick joke.

Has anyone else experienced this? It was such an early loss (5-6 weeks) that I wouldn't have expected it to take much time for my hormone levels to go back to normal. The ongoing symptoms are a constant reminder of what has happened. I'd really appreciate it if anyone else is willing to share their experiences - is this normal? Thanks x

I'm so sorry for you loss... :( xx

My symptoms stopped pretty quickly after miscarriage, however I had bloating for a couple more weeks. Definitely get your blood work done. Your beta HCG must be still very high. :(

Actually, it can be very normal. I always had a post-m/c resurgence of pg symptoms. It can happen due to the dropping of your hormone levels and even early losses can take a while for that to happen. You may even get a bfn on an hpt and still feel a bit sick or sore boobed because hCG isn't the only pregnancy hormone that has to drop/regulate again after a loss.

I'm sorry for your loss though and hopefully things settle down soon so you can start start healing and moving on. :hugs:

Thank you both. I have had a BFN now and my hair has started coming out in clumps. I hadn't really thought about other hormones so thank you - it is reassuring to hear that it is normal. Hopefully my body adjusts to the loss soon. Appreciate your responses very much x
