I took a test last Friday using the Clearblue digital test. It said 1-2 weeks pregnant. If I have had a miscarriage between then and now and take another Clearblue digital test tomorrow could it still say 2-3 weeks (i.e. will the hormones still continue to rise to make it look like the pregnancy is ok even if it's not)?

I'm sorry to ask what is probably a silly question but I can't find the answer anywhere else.

If you use the test tomorrow, then yes it could say 2-3weeks, it could even say the same as last week and could say 3 + weeks its all depends how quickly your HCG levels rise and it varies massively from person to person.

Good Luck, and congrats on your pregnancy.x

So there would be no point in taking another test tomorrow to see if the pregnancy is continuing?

What makes u think the pregnancy isnt continuing?

It could still say 1-2 tomorrow, but that doesnt mean ur pregnancy is over.

Mine went up to 2-3, and stayed at 2-3 the next week, but then i MC :(

Hi, I had a miscarriage at 5 weeks and my CB Digital never got past 1-2 weeks and within one week said not pregnant. It shouldn't rise to 3 weeks if you have miscarried however the date part of the test is not that accurate it seems (especially when you google, it seems to cause more worry to ladies when it doesnt move up )

Im sorry but I don't know your history, do you think you have miscarried and the test now says this?

Yes Im a bit confused, was your mc confirmed by the docs with hcg levels or is it just a threatened mc at this stage?

Sorry for the confusion (and thank you for the replies). I had a miscarriage last November. Baby had died at 6 weeks, I miscarried some weeks later. I had had some very light spotting and was given an early scan which confirmed the baby had died. I had a bit of spotting yesterday so I'm concerned that I'll miscarry again although I know that just because it happened last time doesn't mean it will happen again.

Because this pregnancy is still very new (4-5 weeks) if it has failed now I was wondering if the HCG levels would fall more quickly so I would be able to tell if the test didn't move up to 2-3 weeks.

The more I'm trying to explain this, the more stupid the question is seeming. The fact is I won't know what's going on until my scan next week so I should just try to concentrate on other things.

Thank you for your replies, they have helped. :)

I understand you now, doesn't take much to confuse me though:wacko:

For me it took just 7 days for the test to show negative from my BFP ad the hospital and doctors tests showed negative all the way along. I used a CB Digital (4 actually as the doctor didn't believe me so i was checking my sanity daily lol

Get plenty of rest and try not to worry which is far easier for me to say i appreciate. Just get those feet up and take each day as it comes. Good luck

No not a stupid question at all hun!:hugs: Im just sorry I misunderstood!:hugs: I can only speak from my own personal experince so it may be different for you, I had an early mc in dec and my hcg did drop pretty quickly, day of mc is was already down to 13 and by day three I was down to 2 I believe, I did a hpt on the 2nd day and it was still showing a +. You could do a hpt but then it may only stress you out unessesarily as some women dont get the usual doubling every couple of days of hcg, sometimes it may take three days. I hope everything turns out well for you and your bean hun, rest up and keep up updated.:hugs:

Thanks Boozle and WannaB. :hugs: I did the test this morning anyway and it's showing 2-3 weeks which is what it should be showing. I haven't had anymore spotting so I'm feeling positive. I hope I do get to see a heartbeat at next week's scan. :)

Which pregnancy test is it that tells you how far along you are? That sounds neat! Anyways, congrats and hope everything continues to go well for you!

Try not to worry, I miscarried my first pregnancy at 6 weeks, and when I fell pregnant again 2 months after the miscarriage, I was sure that pregnancy would go the same way, but it didn't, and I now have a gorgeous 2 year old. So what i'm saying is try & relax, just because you miscarried last time, DOESN'T mean you will with this one, your chances of having a successful pregnancy are the same as a woman who has never had a miscarriage. Hope this helps.Good luck with your pregnancy!!

Hi, When I miscarried my levels were at 6 on the day of miscarriage and 4 two days after. I did a test on the day & got pregnant 1-2 weeks. I didn't do another test until 2 weeks later & it said negative. Hope this helps & try not to stress about it.
