Pregnant with low HCG levels

I got the Beta HCG test done on 14 dpiui and it came to 23.79. Repeated the test after 2 days on day 16 and its gone upto 44. I am very confused now. I know its a positive but most probably not a viable pregnancy. Shud the HCG have doubled then in 2 days? And now I am worried about it being etopic. What are the symptoms I shud expect if it is etopic? Any success stories of a BFP soon after a chemical/etopic pregnancy. My doc has advised me to repeat the HCG test every 2 days and continue the progesterone pills. She wants to wait and watch for one week. And I thought 2 ww is the worst wait EVER.

I don't actually know of anyone who has had a beta done so early but i know other ivf'ers who have been told over 10 is a positive result. Also you have almost doubled in 2 days, i think it really is early days yet, keep positive. I've had a chemical af came about a week after my +ve test and by that time it had turned -ve as well. Have you got some pregnancy tests to try? I've also had and ectopic , with high hcg levels, ruptured at 11 weeks. What you need to look out for is bleeding looks like prune juice , sharp pains, dizzy spells and shoulder pain. Fingers crossed that everything goes well for you and your hcg starts to rocket x

A 44 is a great number. Your doctor probably wants to watch it cause of your history. I wouldn't stress about it unless the number starts to go down. It takes 24 - 72 hours for your Hcg numbers to double it depends on the persons hormones levels. I wish you all the best of luck and a H&H nine months to come. Don't stress hun it will be okay. I will pray for you and your LO.

Thanks ladies. My 3rd beta result is due today and I guess I will know which way its going. I dont have any kind of pain or anything. I feel totally normal. Just bit of sore boobs and lightheadedness in the mornings. Oneday- Were the docs not able to diagnose the ectopic and thats why it ruptured? If diagnosed early I am sure it can be fixed. RIght?? Congratulations on ur successful IVF. Why did u opt for an IVF if u had conceived ( I am just assuming) without an IVF?

my HCG levels never doubled hun , i woudl try not to towrry too much about it until you ahve proof , if it helpsa t all i am now 25 weeks pregnant with a very healthy active baby xxx

Hi how long have you got ? I'll try and give u the short version of my story. I have a 5 yr old son decided to ttc another I had an early mc in sept 2007 and conceived again 2 weeks later. Had a scan but nothing was found gor refused a beta hcg gp ignored all my symptoms extreme pain etc and decided I wasn't pregnant another scan showed a cyst on right ovary later to be revealed it wS the ectopic. Ended up in a&e a few days later had to have a major op and blood transfusion. This all caused massive internal scaring which meant my good tube and ovary couldn't get together hence the ivf. Hope I haven't scared you my case was extreme and rare and I am in the process of issuing a law suit against my gp and the sonographer. Anyway keep us updated on u we are all routing for you

HCG should double every 3 days, which would make your numbers fine. Good luck with your next result. Hope those numbers are rising

[My first hCG test was 78, the second one after 5 days 870, 4 days after that it went up to 2093, but two days later it only went up to 2855, please advise on how much your levels double.

hey marehet- Hasnt your doctor advised you to go for an ultrasound? Your numbers have been good and usually with such good nos. there is no need to keep repeating Beta HCG. Ultrasound with confirm everything is okay with the foetus

The concern was that there was a little bleeding, but just when i wipe, no pain or anything. Early this week the doctor could only see the sac, but nothing more and ask me to repeat this test. It came back two days later from 2093 to 2855 and one day after that 3404. The docktor is very optimistic and said it doesnt look good, because my numbers didnt doubled.

Hey marehet- I guess then its wait and watch. I am sure ur numbers will pick up and everything will be fine and this is just a bit of a scare
