Hi ladies, i know from reading lotsnof threads on here that many ladies have had laparoscopy's and hysteroscopy's. I am due to go in on wednesday to have mine. I have done some reading into it and have signed the consent etc but i'm nit really sure what to expect on the day and what i should take with me etc.

I am particulaly nervous about the hysteroscopy as its done vaginally but i am assuming i will be under general for both of the procedures?

My dr has said that ovulation and periods should just go back to normal afterwards...

I have been aent forms and things and advice about eating and drinking on the day but wondering what, if anything else i should do to prepare? Any advice and experiences would be welcome x

Hey Babyhopes. I learned about six weeks ago that I have a host of internal problems including suspected endo, and would need to undergo a laparoscopy and hysteroscopy. I took a break from the boards, and now that I'm about a week away from the surgeries, I just signed on for the first time in forever with the intention of writing a similar post to yours.

My lap and hysteroscopy is scheduled for next Wednesday (April 4). I can't give you any advice of what to expect, but if you're looking for a buddy to talk to during all this, and especially afterwards when it's time to start trying again, I'm here.

Also, I'm hoping you get more responses to your questions, since I'm wondering about the same things.

Hi ladies I am due to have my second Laparoscopy and Hysteroscopy some time before July, depending on the waiting list. This time I will probably have a Salpincectomy at the same time as I will be starting IVF once the procedure is done, please make sure you tell your consultant to do any work while they are in there it might prevent you from having to have 2 like me. Unfortunately for me I had a gyno and not a Fertility Specialist do my first procedure and he obviously didn't realize that having blocked tubes will reduce my chances of a successful IVF.
Anyway firstly I would say I was so scared the first time round but I am a lot more relaxed this time as it was not a bad experience at all. I would suggest maybe drinking peppermint tea, I started a couple of days before and had no gas pain at all secondly I would suggest taking Arnica this will help with the swelling a bruising, Good Luck ladies xx

Thank you both for writing back. I wish you both lots of luck. I keep dreaming all sorts of crazy things at the moment and am now just desperate to get it over and done with.

I have heard that peppermint tea can help so i will definitely try that.

God, the things some of us have to go through....! Hopefully it will only make us stronger in the end.

I am not a real regular on here and generally dip in and out when i feel a bit desperte bu i will be sure to come back on afterwards and message you lemontea and try and help you feel more prepared for yours xx

Hi ladies,

I am also booked in for a Hysteroscopy on the 4th April. I spoke to the consultant who will be performing the procedure and as we are paying for it privately at Care Notts she said she would be using a smaller probe and would not require general anethestic. I'm really nervous about having this done but she said if they did need to scrape anything away then she could put some local anthestic at the top of my cervix (Lovey!).

Let us know how you get on this week. Hope all goes well :)

Hey. I'm going for my lap and dye on the 10th April. I can't wait. I just want answers so it can't come fast enough. Im still waiting my doctor to send me my info on the dos and donts!! Good luck ladies. Xx

So had the lap, dye and hysteroscopy yesterday. Feeling ok today, just sore and gassy. Peppermint tea seems to help. The insicions in my tummy are pretty sore but overall i feel ok.

We found out that i had deep set endo between my uterus and bladder. The dr burnt a lot away but would need to cut the rest and said he didnt want to without talking to me first. He seemed to think that this may be a reason fo struggling to get preg but was fairly non commital. He couldnt see any reason for miscarriages. I am delighted that there was nothing majorly wrong but i guess i was hoping that he would be able to tell me that he had removed something that stops me getting pregnant and is the reason for my miscarriages but know that was pretty silly.

Am looking forward to a fresh start and hopfully a healthy pregnancy and aby very soon!

Good luck to the rest of you. I was very worried yesterday before the op but it was genuinely ok. Those of you waiting for one, dont panic. Try and relax and you will be fine xxxx
