I've heard people mention this before but does anyone know what it's called? I'm gonna badger my GP for some tomorrow :flower:

Domperidone :) pronounced dom-peri-doan, so it's like rhymes with "Loan"

Domperidone works i had to get it after my lo got really sick at 10days old, and my supply almost dried up, its a god send :) x

Domperidone was helpful, but in my experience, a few days of Fenugreek tea was even more effective. Have you tried Fenugreek? I know it comes in capsule form if the tea doesn't appeal to you.

Domperidone doesnt work for me. In the UK you don't need a prescription you can buy it over the counter its other name is motilium.

See another doc or apeak to your hv who may help.

Not all docs are happy to prescribe because ultimately perceived problems with supply can be fixed easily with advice from a bf counsellor, such as perfecting latch, advice to pump to increase supply, putting bsby to breast more etc .

I'm on domperidone and believe me it's not a miracle cure and comes with it's own challenges. If you can get support to go as natural as you can, more the bettr.

My independent midwife pal found me this link to a product that may help my supply. I'll share the link https://www.breastfeedingheaven.co.uk/moremilkspecialblend/cat_26.html

^I know several ladies who have had huge success with the more milk plus product; the one thing I have heard though is the capsules (out of stock on that site but available elsewhere) are more effective than the drops and that the drops taste pretty foul anyway xx

Thats good to know, it often assumed drops are better absorbed by the body so thanks for this xxx

I was reading reviews on some BF blogs and in one of them both were tried; the reviewer said while the drops work out quite a bit cheaper they didn't create quite as much of an increase and the increase dwindled more quickly upon stopping the drops than the capsules xx

i did a bit of research and usually they just prescribe the drug maxalon or maxolon (spelling i'm not too sure) which is usually prescribed for morning sickness, i had some left over from my pregnancy and took it and it worked a treat!!

If I stop taking the More Milk capsules will my milk supply drop again? They're really expensive and we're struggling for money as it is at the moment.

i don't know what they are but i heard

milk thistle and it will drop after you stop

Fenugreek and it wont drop after you stop

From what I've read if your supply continues to be stimulated adequately by your baby then it won't dwindle after stopping the more milk plus, or any other galatacalogue; I still think you should try and get hold of someone who can give you a second opinion on if your LO has tongue tie or any other issue that may prevent him transferring milk effectively while using something like more milk plus. xx
