I had a mm/c at the end of Feb with my first pregnancy, I was 11+2 and started to bleed and had to wait a week for a scan to confirm. I opted for medical management which didn't work, as i found 2 weeks later and then had to wait a week for ERPC! It was a really tough time. I am now 9+5 with my second pregnancy and so scared that i am going to get to the dating scan and find a mm/c. Doc wouldn't give me an early scan, was told that others more in need with problems (bleeding and pains) need scans and i would just be taking a place up and that even if i have a scan there is no guarantee that it won't die the next day. I know that it is all true but it is a bit harsh having to wait till 12+5 for a bit of reassurance that i actually have a baby this time around. As i get closer to 11 weeks it is also getting harder, i am convinced it is all going to go wrong again. Anyone else going through an anxious wait?

i know its hard and each time it gets harder (i've had 2 MC now pregnant for 3rd time), just hang in there and do things that can occupy your mind i found having more time to think about things drive you insane (i know its hard not to worry and even when your busy you think about it, at the cinema, out for a meal, shopping with the girls...its always on your mind) but it does help pass the time quicker. if your that worried and need reasurance why dont you contact the epu at your hospital and see what they will do for you, they are usually really helpful with anxious women who have history of MC and fit you in as soon as there is an opening. hope things go well for you this time, try stay positive...if things dont work out dont give up, on mumsnet.com there is a lady who had 15 miscarriages before she had her little girl so please dont give up hope just because it went bad last time doesnt mean it will this time.

Stay strong Hoolen :hugs: the odds really are on your side.

It's tough playing the waiting game - I was lucky to get a reassurance scan but as I had mc at 7-8 weeks previously I went and got a private scan at 8+4 - it might be worth thinking about if you're driving yourself to distraction with worry and you can afford it.

:hugs: there's always ladies on here to offer an ear when you're feeling low

thanks everyone for your support and kind words. it is all out of our control isn't it i think that is the hardest part! I am away for a week from Wed so hope that will take my mind off things for a week.

cant believe they wont let you have an early scan given what you've been through.. i would complain and ask someone else.. as the girls said, most of us who have had MC's have been able to get early scans...

if you are really worried you could always go and get a private scan....

good luck this time round. xx

So sorry Hoolen! Hang in there. And like clownfish says - maybe do a private scan?
