Private scans.....glasgow??

Lisa...if i was you, i would be very tempted to call the EPU and say you have pains and are worried, get them to do an early scan for you!
I dont think i could cope as well as you are! God help your doctor :haha:

I went into the EPU this time last year as I had had a +HPT but started bleeding a couple of days later. Unfortunately the visit from AF was REALLY bad, and went on for weeks and I was getting stomach pains etc so my doc sent me to EPU to be checked that I hadn't had an incomplete miscarriage. They were AWFUL! Done a urine tests said "its negative, nothing we can do for you, so you can go home". Puts me off going in again :( . I am cramping a little today, and feel a little faint, but thats normal I suppose?

What a horrible experience Lisa.
I understand where you are coming from...i just thought it might help confirm things for you not the other way around....but its quite scary after having a bad experience!
I just cant wait till u can stick 2 fingers up to those tests xx

Definitely see what you are saying hun. Its the reason I am tempted to pay for an early scan at that place at perth. If you think of all the money I've wasted on tests, £25 is nothing and worth it just to know one way or another! I will see what the doctor says on tuesday. I just feel so frustrated!! HOw can SO many IC be postive but NOTHING bought from a store is? Yesterday I done a FRER, boots digi and a tesco ...all negative.... with the same urine, IC positive! UGH!

Sorry, didn't mean to take our your thread...

:hugs:

Dont be silly Lisa...you are welcome to vent here. I have my answer to the original question of the thread.
I really feel for you! So many different brands saying no...but your ICs all psitive and lets not forget your AF is late too!
Its so hard when ttc for so long and to not have that definitive proof in front of you!
But im sure you are pregnant. It tests where faulty then your hubby would be pregnant too :haha:

oh and lisa....im sure i read somewhere that you where on painkillers. If you dont mind me asking...what type?
I too am on strong painkillers for arthritis and im to start cutting down gradually as it can be dangerous for the baby to stop straight away!

I was on co-codamol 30/500 or tramadol. And amytripaline (spellings?) Doctor told me to come off all of them.

He said I could take co-codamol 8/500, but I haven't bothered, just stuck to paracetamol.... useless!!

If your doc has told you to cut down then thats exactly what I would do. Because I alternated between Co-codamol and the tramadol I wasn't reliant on either if that makes sense, so no withdrawls, I just cut them out the day i got my BFP!

Aww i see!
I am on diydracodeine, and have been for the past 10 years...so yes, its a huge addiction for me!
My mum was on anitriptaline for burning in her feet (even tho its an anti depressant) it gets used for many things....and when she went cold turkey off it she had panic attacks and felt awful....definately not one to come off straight away. She was only on if for a couple of months as well!
Its hard to make lots of changes, but when we are doing it for the health of our babies then it makes it worth while :hugs:

I just came off it all instantly. I had a couple of days where I was floored with pain and fatigue but have been feeling better the last few days. Had a little bit of dizziness/lightheaded.

i hope things go well for you coming off them. I know how hard it can be with addictions, I've heard a lot of people becoming addicted to their pain meds :hugs:. I used to smoke but gave up 3 years ago in prep for TTC and getting my BFP! You'll get there hun :hugs:

Im trying to quit smoking too....and lose weight lol.
Its a big battle but i will be sucessful! Im sure i will....just have to be strong xx

I just booked a private scan for tomorrow with that company in perth. Its costing me £45 but i think it is still very worth it. I cant wait, im so excited i can hardly contain it. I dont know what to expect to see tomorrow though lol x

I had a scan at 8 weeks with my son as my cycles are irrugular and I hadn't had a visit from AF for months but found out I was pregnant so we had no idea how far on I was at the time. It was amazing! I got a great pic, got to hear his HB and could see him moving! :cloud9:.

Good luck hun, can't wait to hear how you get on!

Im from aberdeen so will have a interesting car ride down depending on how spewy im feeling tomorrow but so gonna be worth it. Im terrified there is gonna be nothing there tho or they give me bad news. I just knew i could not wait till 13 weeks becuase thats how long it is taking nhs up here to scan. xxx

Good luck for tomorrow, babybeegurl :) They are truly lovely people there, and will do their best to help you relax. With me, an abdominal scan didn't really show much other than *maybe* a sac, so I requested a transvag one and they were happy to go along with that. I saw my beanie at roughly 6 weeks, heard a heartbeat and got a couple of blob pictures

I hope everything goes well for you tomorrow :hugs:
