I am primarily BF'ing my LO but have started to give the odd FF in the evening before bedtime to give myself a break! We have been giving him ready-made aptamil so far but last night decided to give him powdered apatmil instead - to try and save some money!

He took 5oz fine but after we put him down around 8pm he moaned and groaned a bit and then woke up at half past midnight screaming (he normally sleeps for 10-11hrs at night with no problem). He was very very unhappy, kicking his legs, squirming around, arching his back and farting lots! I don't think it was colic as he has infacol routinely and had burped as per normal after his feed. It took us two hours to calm him down enough to sleep as he was knackered, and he needed a bit of breastmilk to help calm him. He hasn't been sick or had diarrhoea and seems fine this morning after catching up on his sleep.

Has anyone else's LO had this reaction to powdered formula? I am sure I made it up right and am now worried he will never be happy on it :-(
