Hi all, I am lucky as I can say I seem to get pregnant very easily (been pregnant twice, both on the first try). However, I can't seem to maintain my pregnancies past 5 weeks before I have a miscarriage. I am 32, my OH is 41, so my doc has referred us to a fertility clinic, but we won't be able to get an appointment for 4-6 weeks. I might be pregnant now (I had an extremely faint positive test yesterday - "if I hold it in the right light and squint really hard and move the pee stick back and forth I can kind of see a line" - but I am only 8 dpo so I'm not trusting it), so I asked my doc if I could go on progesterone and baby aspirin this month if I am pregnant to see if it could help me maintain the pregnancy. She said that even though we don't know what, if anything, is wrong with me fertility wise, but it won't hurt me to take progesterone and baby aspirin, so I am to go back if I get a true positive and she will get me a prescription. Do you all think this is a good course of action to take? Is there anything else I can do to help get a sticky bean? We are trying for our first little one so this is all a little new to me!
Thanks!

I take baby aspirin started about 2 weeks before ovulation and continue it. I have had a miscarriage before and I love the fact that baby aspirin helps the blood flow to the uterus which helps with implantation and lowers your risk of mc. Not sure if it will work as I am only 2dpo. GL

I also started both of these recently. I've had two mcs and this is my third try. My doctor stsrted me on progesterone from the day I got my bfp, and I've been on baby asprin for about a month now. He also said it can't hurt to try. Good luck!

I had 2 miscarriages before having DD1 and was put on aspirin and progesterone as soon as I got my BFP but I started the aspirin 1-2 days after ovulation). Don't know if it made a difference but I finally got my rainbow :cloud9: I got pregnant again when she was 3 months old, and took progesterone and aspirin, and gave birth to another beautiful little girl :) It won't do any harm that's for sure, and it's really easy to take, with little to no side effects:winkwink:

jessmke: I actually got my bfp at 8dpo with DD2. It was a squinter on a dollar tree store, but I took a FRER later that evening and got an actual line :winkwink:

Good luck:flower:

Thanks for the replies everyone! I took an IC tonight at 8 dpo (second one of the day, I have a problem) and again there's a ridiculously faint line that I can just barely see if I hold it in the right light (read: Jess you are seeing things and you need to stop POAS so early!). I've been tempted to get a FRER but I know that if it's negative I'll kick myself for wasting the $20!

Hubby is going to pick up the baby aspirin tonight on his way home, and I'll start the progesterone as soon as I get a definite BFP. When we started TTC again this cycle after my MC I was feeling deflated and frustrated and like I didn't want to go through this again, but now I feel optimistic!

Lol I was just as bad :haha: IC tests are known to give faint lines for a long time. I would spend the money and do a frer tomorrow morning. The sooner you start it the better:winkwink:

I got another faint positive this morning, my husband got a negative (I wanted to make sure the tests weren't defective!). I'm picking up a FRFR today and I'll test with it tomorrow morning!

Hi all! Just wanted to give you a little of my story in hopes it will help. I go to a fertility specialist due to PCOS. For my son, my dr told me to start taking baby asprin right away (so I took it at the start of my cycle) and prescribed me progesterone on the day after confirmed ovulation. So I take clomid and I am followed via ultrasounds to determine when I ovulate. I usually ovulate on cycle day 16, so I start taking progesterone on that day. Wait two weeks, test, and if a positive I remain on the progesterone until 12 weeks (when placenta takes over), if negative, stop progesterone and start again with Clomid. Hope this helps. I see no harm in trying the asprin and progesterone. Good luck!!

Did you get your bfp this month?

I got a very clear BFP this morning with a FRER and Pregnant 1-2 weeks with CB digital, I can't believe the cheapies were right!! I started the baby aspirin and will call my doc for progesterone as soon as her office opens. Stick baby stick!!

Wow, i could have written this myself! Had 2 chemicals in jan and feb and suspect I just had another with a very faint squinter from 8dpo to 14dpo and got AF today! I have got 2 children (age nearly 2 and age 3) but since trying for number 3, i have discovered I have a short LP (10 days) amd can't maintain these pregnancies.

I started taking Vit B6 (50mg a day) and one B complex from last month and this month I am starting on the baby aspirin. I haven't been to my doctor though and might do that tomorrow to get progesterone cream prescribed

I hope it works for us

So my doc gave me oral progesterone, and suggested I take it at night because it can cause drowsiness. I took one last night, then read the package insert which says do NOT take if you are pregnant!!! I phoned a friend who is a pharmacist and she said it's fine to take during pregnancy, so why the F is that warning in there?? I'll call my doc today just to be sure.

Has anyone else taken progesterone in pill form? I had only ever heard of suppositories and creams.

I am on the pill form, 200mg in am and pm. It does make you drowsy, wish I could take full dose at night.
