My doctor told me today he wanted me to stay on progesterone til 10 weeks due to my history of miscarriages, but that usually he only has people stay on it til 8 weeks. Is there any advantage to going longer- as in, shoulder I take it until its gone?

I am on progesterone right now, have been since 6weeks bc of low level. my dr said I needed to stay on it till 12weeks when the placenta has fully taken over. after 3 mc I will do anything for this baby. I am taking 200mg 3x a day by mouth.

I'd keep taking it if you can. I need it due to low progesterone levels and I'm on it until 14 weeks if I can talk my doctor into it. (They normally discontinue my prescription at 12 weeks.) The placenta doesn't take over until 12-14 weeks so you need progesterone to support the pregnancy until then.

I'm on my 2nd bottled of oral progesterone I have 2 more refills I'm 11 weeks 3 days
