Progesterone Suppositories?

I am taking progesterone suppositories to hopefully make this baby stick and I was just wondering from those who have taken them, did you lay down after putting them in and for how long? Last night was my first night and I just put it in before bed and went to sleep but this morning I wasn't sure what to do so I just stayed laying down for half an hour.

Ugh. Thats a long time lol. I'll do it if need be though. I have to go pick up the rest of the presciption this evening (they only had enough in stock for 2 days) so I might ask the pharmacist what he recomends. They make the compound right in the pharmacy here so it doesn't come with the pamphlet of instructions but I wish it did. lol.

They suck bigtime, ahhh I finished my last one 2 nights ago Thank God. My doctor said you only need to lay down about 30 mins, it will use what it needs then. But you will need pantyliners all the time, as they give you tons of slimy white discharge and the smell the next day would make me gag. Only because I am sick all the time though. I took one in the morning and one at night. They were the wax bullet ones. They dissolve pretty quick but are messy, I found the one from the morning would come out a little with discharge. I just hated them, I found it a nightmare. But you may be ok. I been struggling with bad nausea and vomiting too and progestrone can make symptoms stronger. Good luck lol xxxxxx

My symptoms with my last pregnancy were extremely strong. My husband coming home from work would make me throw up. I was hoping this time the symptoms wouldn't be quite so bad but I quess thats probably out. But I'll do anything for a sticky bean. I found it nasty to just put the one in this morning because TMI when I took my finger out after pushing up there is was covered in creamy waxy nasty smelling white gunk probably the left over from last nights. lol.

Yeah, I got my hubby to get some disposable gloves from the Hospital, As I had bacteria in my urine, thought maybe it was from keep sticking my fingers in there every day. So I started to use gloves so the gloves got grose and gewy and not my finger. I would cry some nights and not want to use them, maybe it's just me but I hated them so bad. The things we do for our babies eh? lol. What were your progestrone levels before taking them, mine was 13 and went up to 25 with them.

My doctor didn't check levels. After my second m/c she said as soon as I got pregnant this time she wanted to start me on them right away (we did all the reccurent m/c testing and everything was normal so this was process of elimination). She said that the tests really aren't reliable and she'd rather just put me on them to be on the safe side as it won't hurt even if its not the issue.

I was/am with a fertility clinic and they always do cycle day 21 bloods for progestrone levels. Maybe inquire about it? xx

As Mazzie my levels went from 12.7 to 24.3 with the progesterone.

I am having beta's done but my doctor didn't mention anything about checking the progesterone. She said since my problems seem to happen after the 6th week (both times healthy 6 week ultrasounds) that I could be producing enough to begin with and then my body can't keep up and then my levels may drop.

You should be good then, if you starting them now. Are you taking 200mg a day?

I'm taking two 50mgs a day so 100mg total. I asked the pharmacist if I needed to stay laying down and he said 15 minutes will do but if I have time a little longer wouldn't hurt.

i too am taking these and hate them. I had developled a nasty UTI the day before I started taking them and inserting the first two was excruciating. I was like, HELL NO I cant do this!!! I called my OB and the nurse told me to come in right away bc it wasnt supposed to be painful and make me want to die (looking back its kind of funny) when we got that treated, it was a lot better, but I totally feel you on the disgusting insertion and feeling all nasty all the time. My sex drive is completely gone too as is my husbands seeing me have to put them in 2x/day. guess we wont be having any fun till 14 weeks.. boo!

What kind are u on? I'm on crinone.. I don't have to lay down at all after using it, but it's really gross!! I can't wait until I'm done!! Only have 3 - 4 weeks left of it!!

There is no brand because the pharmacist compounds it himself. He said its mainly just to give it time to desolve so it doesn't fall out because if a lot comes out quickly you're not getting the full dosage.

Okay another question... did you guys feel extremely bloated when on the progesterone? Last night it was so bad I was compeltely uncomfortable and considering i'm not even 4 week yet I don't think it is pregnancy related.

Yup!! The progesterone exaggerates pregnancy symptoms, bloat, sore bb, and when or if you get ms.. That too!!

Okay. I just thought I was crazy because of how bloated I was! My morning sickness was bad enough last time my doctor put me on reglan for it so I hope its not THAT bad again.

I am in 400mg a day (200 mg every 12 hrs) imagine how the symptoms are exaggerated...but we do whatever in our hands for these little bundles of joy
