Protein in urine

I went to the doctors last night as have had increasing lower back pain, need to pee alot and had a tiny pin prick of blood when i wiped the other day. Anyway i done a urine sample and it said i had alot of protein and blood inurine, i am now on antibiotics and she has sent a sample away to see what type of infection it is.

has this happened to anyone else and if so was it a urine infection or the start of something worse?

Hi I always have a trace of protein in mine but never had to have any treatment.

Protein has always meant a uti for me

I had protein for two visits before this last one.
Dr didnt seem too concerned. he sent my urine for testing, and no uti.
this last visit I had no protein.
do you drink a lot of water? i started to drink a lot of water and that seems to have helped.

Thanks makes me feel better, everything i looked up was saying sign of pre eclampsia. i have been trying to drink lots today
