Since coming off BC (1 1/2 years ago) I have been very irregular. My last cycle got to CD 234! For the past 6 months I've been taking 2000mg of Metformin daily, which seems to have done nothing. 
I'm currently on CD22 and my GP has prescribed me provera and clomid.
She advised me to stop taking the Metformin and start the clomid when I get to CD29 (as she is 99% sure the 
won't arrive, just to lack of ovulation.) She said I can skip the provera if I want and just start on the clomid. However from when I've read on here, everyone always seems to wait until the arrives, then start the clomid.
Has anyone had experience of this? Or do you think I should take the provera, wait for the then start the clomid? Any help much appreciated, as I've never taken either before!
